Nasty character appraiser attacks!!

So I googled gemblog appraiser on IE and Firefox...both have blocked the site as a Virus distributor/attack site. I`ve used thiss site on previous occassions and not had any issues...is this likely to be a permanent block or has it happened before

Don't know, but that site is a pox only used anymore by resellers trying to lowball character buys.

I, for one, won't miss it.

Not to mention it takes no value on specialized toons like tengu toons and scanning toons and things of that nature that are made for a specific and usually high isk income regardless and being light on the skillpoints...

That website was useless from the start

Actually the one that would over evaluate whatever char for the same reasons you just said would be the perfect site to scam isk from starting players or some not able to really evaluate the value of some toon.

You know....in a former life I was an appraiser. And I'll tell you this, worth and/or value is accurate solely when a seller and buyer agree on a price. Beyond that, it's all hoodoo voodoo, an educated guess using methods and techniques which generally bow to the lowest or highest common denominators depending on who is paying for your services.

The only true estimation of value is based solely on cost since those results are reproducible. But, then cost is not market value as there are more intangible elements to consider.

TBH, I've no idea how gemblob comes up with the numbers it uses. Obviously, they're not accurate. However, as is always the case in the appraising profession, lacking any better data whatever value it assigns is as good as anyone else's.

I fully agree with you. I think this is why most sellers now use a password on Eveboard.

The purpose of the o p though, was to see if it was a reputible site prior to the Google block...and to warn players about the risk on using it now. Some may vivit from a bookmark and not know the dangers...and more hacked accounts could ensue.

I'm not too happy with my low Intimidating rating.

I'll put the ugly rating down to pure haters and people I have killed.

Friendly and heroic aren't too shabby but I need to work on that trustworthy status a bit, especially since I actually am very trustworthy.

I didnt know that site existed, lol.

EDIT: Oh, it's entirely superficially based on looks and not reputation. Shame.

It seems Gemblog's character appraiser got "fixed." What ever had been infecting the site is gone now. it's up and running as of today.

They pull a knife, you pull a gun. He sends one of yours to the hospital, you send one of his to the morgue. That's the Chicago way! Did I mention, I used to live in Chicago?
