Reached the point that I’m able to fly a jump freighter. Had a question on jumping, have zero experience with it.
My question is if you’re aggressed in anyway, can you still jump to a cyno out of the system? In other words if you undock and there’s tons of hostiles out there shooting you, are you still able to jump?

Basically my plan for it is supplying and moving stuff up/down lowsec pipelines. Won't be using any gates, just direct cyno to/from stations. Only gate used will be the one to highsec but I'd put up a deathstar to warp from. Any safe way of performing this job more safely then my plan I’d appreciate your suggestions

Next question is about Covert Op’s ships, say a Widow for example. Does it work much like the covert op frigates like a buzzard in terms of being able to warp cloaked and also move around with no speed penalty while cloaked? With all the BC's in lowsec anymore I was thinking it would be awesome with a 4 Torp fit. Would allow me to get past the gate blobs protecting them, lay and wait then uncloak and say hello :)

Thanks!

Widow isn't really a CovOps Ship... It can't fit an CovOps Cloak, instead it gets a bonus to cloaked velocity - Making it actually faster cloaked then uncloaked, but without a CovOps Cloak it still can't warp cloaked.

With respect to the Cyno questions. If you are tackled in any way (point, scram, bubble, etc..) you cannot jump to a cyno. Being shot at wont stop you from jumping, but if you are being shot at you will most likely be tackled too.
The other thing to remember is that a cyno going up will attract people like moths to a flame, cause only expensive stuff uses a cyno.

Save some money and do what everyone else does - cyno to a station, then warp to the gate. If anything goes terribly wrong, just dock. If for some reason you find yourself doing gate travel in a freighter in lowsec you should always be escorted with a minimum of a forward scout, back scout, same-corp webbing ship to get you to warp quickly, a cyno frig on standby in case things start looking bad, and a couple of disposable DPS boats (hurricanes are good for this)

Your cyno frigs will get shot a lot. Factor in expected losses into your hauling costs. You can minimize this by shooting other people's cyno frigs and taking their cynos, but that will hurt your sec. status if you care about such things.

As Kessiaan said, cyno to a station not a pos. You can't cyno inside the POS, so you have to put it outside, then eather slowboat into the safety of the POS or warp to gate. You are vulnerable at this time and even with the POS you are likly to die.

Basicly; never cyno to a low sec POS, when you have stations in system.
