One more thing: back during the Quebec separation debate/referendum our then Conservative government told the Quebec government in no uncertain terms that it would not be allowed to use the Canadian dollar if it separates. I find it odd our government would consider allowing a foreign country to use our currency after they told Quebec to take a hike.

that's because it's quebec, not because they would not be part of canada anymore. that's like saying, who would you trust with holding your wallet? some 15 year old or another adult?
