The market demand for Nanoribbons

I'm curious as to why nanoribbons have started to decrease in price to just below 8M? Or why did they reach as high as almost 9M 2 months earlier.

...and before that they were at 6M What?

Honestly, don't know, but I loved, loved, loved when they were well over 8M.

I'll give you a hint.

It's not just the demand. Supply has something to do with it too.

I'm pretty sure Salcon is not the only one who loved it when nanoribbons were well over 8 million.

Increase in demand for T3s (lots being blown up in 0.0 PvP as part of new alliance doctrines).

Decrease in supply? I recall someone talking about a ninja nerf to their drop rate on the forums a few weeks ago.

Drop rate hasn't changed, I don't think. There is always a talk about changes in drop rate of "item x", but it is usually just someone on a bad run.

Prices climbed, so it is either supply or demand or both. It is possible the fuel block change had some effect, I guess, on w-space activity, but none that I noticed. It could be just the love of the start cruisers has caused demand to go up. Ofc, someone is now filling up that demand by producing more supply, hence the drop in price.

If you are alluding to some possible market manipulation, I suppose it could be, but it is much harder (and very expensive) to do when compared to many other materials.

Well i hope your rich enough like most of us that you simply just stockpile your goodies until the price is attractive enough to offload the lot. Or is that just me..

EDIT: I did really like when they hit 10M Blink

Actually that's probably why the market behaves like this. People stockpiling them until the price gets high enough that they feel it's worth it to release them, which depresses the price. Rinse and repeat.

The other factor is that W-space items tend to hit the market in bigger chunks. Nobody's going to empty the hangars every day, you let it build up then take it out all at once.

I suppose that would affect it a little, but the reverse of that is also true. When prices are low people will buy up in large quantities also. It will come down to what people perceive as a good enough price to buy and sell. Some that just do random WH raids will just offload 10-20 at whatever the market is, some will wait until mid 8's and offload a few hundred but i am just a touch greedier and wait until it springs past 9.

Some low end wormhole dwellers have moved to incursions since they made similar isk with less risk and more reliably available sites. They may have moved back to their holes due to the recent anti-incursion efforts and the rumours of an incoming nerf.

Demand fluctuation in T3
market saturation for solo/individuals
buyers tend to be bigger manufacturers (due to skill requirements) and thus orders and demands are higher in cycles

Also lots of market speculation and some influence, people will do as they do.

Its not possible to please all the people all the time, but it sure as hell is possible to Displease all the people, most of the time.

From where I sit (as a t3 supplier who sources most of their own primary resources from w-space) this latest 'melteds' bubble was driven primarily by the demand side. For some reason every man and his dog wanted T3s (mainly tengu) for their PvP gangs. Our orders just went thru the roof, to the extent that we could not keep up ... like literally dozens of tengu at a time.

On the supply side I've seen ppl postulate all sorts of why-ppl-are-leaving-wspace theories ... but none are even vaguely substantiated. As for stealth nerfing of drops, again my drops have continued along on their own 'normal' variable path ... one day 27 from three sites, the next 2 from seven.

I guess I am almost a 'vet' by now. Hopefully not too bitter and managing to help more than I hinder. I build and sell many things, including large collections of bookmarks.
