Dust Bunnies Dust Bunnies Dust bunnies. Say it after me, Dust Bunnies.

Fake wiki 1.
"Dust Bunnies:- name taken for the disposable infantry in the new CCP FPS DUST 415, it is thought the term bunny comes from the propensity of players in FPS games to (bunny hop) in order to manipulate hit box targeting"

Fake wiki 2.
Bunny hopping:- leaping about like a muppet in any FPS such that the person shooting at you is less likely to accurately target your hit box due to frantically typing in broadcast chat "stop bunny hopping you pubbie faargglederpiderp1111"

I think the biggest reason I can;t see it coming out this summer...

They aren't advertising the game. At all.

When call of duty or battlefield comes out, there are commercials for like 6-9 months leading up to it.

CCP is going to hold all of their intel close (if they even have any) until the week before it hits shelves and then wonder why no one knows the game is out, or even knows the game exists.

I thought their new CMO would do a better job advertising the game. You don't have to spill all the beans to make a 15 seconds commercial and run it a few times a week on semi-prime channels. This game is going to come out with HUGE expectations, and fall flat cause know one outside the EVE community, or the friends of EVE players even know about this game...

FC, what do?

Plus one for dust mites

A mite is far more infereor to a bunny. Like the eve intro says....we are gods....that makes the dust mites ours to kill or let live at our whim.

So on the basis that in eve i am a god then those puny marines are going to do my bidding by just dangling a few measly isk/aur in their face then they are definatley Dust Mites

I think a fresh post with a petition will need to be made concerning this bunnies and mites debate. Dont care when dust comes out, my ps3 isnt going anywhere and i got EvE to keep me occupied until then.

CCP doesnt advertise anything, except for the occasional google-ad...

if i recal correctly, CCP can only afford 1/1000th the advertising budget of people like activision and blizzard.

I'm sure fanfest will have plenty of fun surprises. Don't forget that they are having playable multiplayer Dust at fanfest, so it must be nearing completion.

Years ago they had working videos, but they scrapped that project and restart it.

Honestly I don't understand why people scrap whole projects. Code is reusable, people, you dont have to get rid of the entire thing.

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

Dust will NOT hit the shelves this summer. There is just no way that CCP is that close to delivery and is still keeping this quiet. The reason they are so quiet is because there is not much to tell.

How long ago did they start taking signups for the beta? where is the new beta?

still on the drawing board.

They have been releasing new information and the internal beta is running, the plan is to launch the real betas after fanfest.

This entire thread is useless until after fanfest.

Betcha it doesn't, cause, why release it so early before Xmas...

Because the xmas market is saturated and Dust it is a downloadable game - so can't really be bought as a present.

(Also the technical Term is 'Dust Bunnies' Blink )

I am pretty sure it's Dust Mites

Nope, it's 'Dust Bunnies'. Never seen anyone use 'dust mites' before.

I figured that they're more like bugs than clumps of skin and hair.

It could be dust mites but in reality whats more fun to kill a small bug thats smaller than the head of a pin or something you can aim at and scream RUN MOTHER ****ER RUN then blow it in half with a deer slug.

personaly i prefer the second one.(yes i have a twisted sence of humor)

so Dust Bunnys it is.

In almost every FPS (until DUST 514) most players were regarded as [insert video game] junkie or [insert video game] fanatic. But I have never seen anyone refer to a FPS player with something as formal and fitting as "Dust Bunny". It's catchy, it doesn't sound generic, and it's unique to the game without having to resort to the overly-used terms like "junkie" or "fanatic". Imagine the conversation.

I for one would like to ensure that our Dust Bunny servants welcome us Capsuleer overlords.
