Comcast here had DCs and other network issues.

As of this post the connection is extremely slow to other sites such as youtube as well.

Comcraptic. Luckily I was only trying to access the forum at the time.

Oh. FYI. When Comcrap has overload, they arbitrarily dump packets. They deny it, but an independent agency caught them doing it, and they're embroiled in a lawsuit over it - uninterrupted service. It's conceivable they dump on a server common to the route used to access EVE. Traceroute could confirm that. I'm too lazy, and too fed up with tracking Comcrap to bother finding out what I already know.

Why do I still use them? They have a monopoly in South Florida. Either them or DSL.

We must accommodate the idiocracy.

You do realize comcast is a francise and that the local owner may be a tard?

Also looks like they're having router issues though i cant exactly discern the nature of it, only a year in school and the stuff Im seeing screw up is well beyond my current knowledge.

I blame improper routing tables and updates in the end which would explain massive packet dumps it be like a post office in middile of nowhere going london? where's dat? meh throw away.

It went down for me in the middle of battle.

In a really nice ship.

That I'd just bought.

Needless to say, I'm not happy.

Comcasted.

Frontier FiOs moved in here a couple years ago and since then they have stolen a large portion of comcasts customer base as you get much faster speeds for the same price. Tv and internet. To the point that Comcast is saying flat out lies in there ads to get customers back.

I have 25 MBPS download speed and 15 MBPS up load speed.

Another 3 years of school and you still won't know ****. It will take you a year of hands on to learn anything relevant and by then you will already no more than school every taught you. You simply cannot learn this **** from books.

FYP with some words I found in books. You might try reading one, they hide knowledge in there.

Where I live Comcast is not a franchise. They are pretty much the only cable provider here. They are one of only 2 places you can get internet service from in most areas. I used to work for them. While they do deny dumping packets. They do. They also throttle connections. If you get close to your monthly limit or they feel you are downloading too much withing a days timespan they will throttle you. Every other week I have to call them. I will get **** slow service, reset everything, normal DNS flush, modem reset...blah blah blah. I can troubleshoot for hours...call Comcast and say "Im getting slow service. Is there an issue right now". The agent responds "Nope no issues (click, clack, clickity, clack)." Ill hand up right then and there and 2 seconds later...BAM! Internet is working fine again. Goes like this twice a month 100% of the time.

Bounties for all! https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=2279821#post2279821

My school has the equipment thanks to generous donations of local updating local isps so we got about a couple hundred routers to work with. Largest topology I can seem to shove together within the hour is 3 routers via switches and get them to see each other and squawk to each other.

Worst I problems I have done was fudging the routing table or plugging in the the serial cables before my partner got the line set up which causes it to start slarping.

My local isp guys are looking for engineers I am considering getting an internship for the summer with them since they do pay thier interns which is nice.

True, but then not everyone tailors their posts specifically for you ;)

Anyway, Comcast peasant here too. I say peasant since they're the only choice in my area except crappy DSL and being just beyond the distance from the CO for anything but 1.5Mbps.

Honestly, Comcast is a great service. 100% uptime as long as you never use it. Otherwise, expect plenty of issues if you're doing more than say purchasing from their prioritized web partners.

Don't ban me, bro!
