Even if I wasn't in the CFC Mitanni will still get 1 of my votes this year, because frankly, he did a good job. He and CSM 6 got Flying in space on the path to getting fixed and brought changes players like myself have wanted for years; like the hybrid fix.

I'm pretty happy with what Tallest has posted in his hybrid blog.

CSM didnt appear from the minutes to have much to do with the new BCs, I'd say thats a pretty big move that CCP did to represent their move to FiS without direct intervention. Lessons learnt from their understanding of players opinion after the Incarnagate. I'm sure they took the CSMs discussions on board, but I doubt opinion was unknown.

I mean it was even a topic of dicussion that the impact of loss of subs was relevant to the emergency summit:

I agree, it wasn't just the csm, however when you look in this very forum for the most wanted fixes by players you'll see that those same fixes appeared in crucible and the next patch will contain more most wanted fixes, as voted on by the player base. csm did what its supposed to do, for the first time.

If you look in this forum you'll also see a number of outstanding unfixed items from players opinion that Crucible didn't fix.

I do hope that CCP continues in this vein also and in conjunction with the CSM, which largley needs a better representation to makes things even better than they are. Essentially to add more credability and purpose. My only objection to your reasoning is thinking that the Mittani is essential to that process, as clearly he isn't.

How DARE you ask such an inappropriate question. We haven't even had a first date yet and this is something we don't tell people until we move in with them, or at least buy us dinner first.

Hey,

I've been sitting here wondering if getting all upset about who might or might not win the CSM elections, and is it really worth the indigestion. I came to a realization it's not. Smile

Ultimately our subscriptions will be the determining factor for CCP. Yeah... the present CSM can claim responsibility of CCP changing direction all they want. Reality is, the falling subscription base is what ultimately got CCPs attention.

So...

We could address all the hate filled comments that came from Mittani and the rest of the CSM and goons as we were unsubbing last year.

We could address how the Goons continue to try and sometimes do scam new comers in the recruiting channel, even though it's against EULA.

We could address how certain members of the CSM have little or no working knowledge of WH mechanics or other game mechanics.
(I certainly don't know all parts of the game. However I don't pretend I do.)

We could address how certain posts disappear per ISD or other moderators after someone points out a RL attack made towards a fellow player by a Goon. Yeah yeah... just a coincidence that you cleaned only one post.

We could address how The Mittani holds people who didn't vote for him last election in contempt and considered usless to him.

We could address a lot of things. But ultimately the only thing we need to remember is that our subscriptions will be what effects CCPs bottom line and ultimately how they proceed with the game.

Sure... the CSM effects the bottom line when you consider the free air fare and luxuries afforded to them to act as puppets for CCP.

I can say that I've never voted in the CSM elections before this year. However, my 5 accounts will be voting this year. No, not for anyone presently holding a CSM tag. I feel they all sat by and reaped the rewards of the ones who unsubbed and now taking credit for something they had nothing to do with other than disdain and the mocking the ones who were unsubbing. Yeah... I was there and I remember being called a lot of names...peasant.

Good luck to all and thank you CCP for making a great game. You just need to get rid of some useless chairs in your offices is all. IMight I recommend removing the puppets in those chairs while you're at it?

I think I'm right in saying a corollary to your central thesis is that all the market research CCP is capable of ends in the algorithm

subs go up --> make spacepants

subs go down --> make good game

yup you are my new form of entertainment

Everyone knows the real reason they added the new BCs was because they took out insurance payouts for suicide ganks. You know, to make you bears feel loved. Roll

What makes you think I'm unhappy with BCs? I would have thought from my point that I'm trying to use the BC as a valued item? Roll herpderp

I seriously pity the Mittani with the level of intellect shown from his supporters sometimes.

Of cause there are outstanding issues. You've got crazy dudes who want the moon on a stick putting up threads in here.

I don't think he's essential to the CSM; however look at like this:
CSM 1 -5 - Used a shotgun approach. They loaded up the shotgun with all the issues the players had, from tiny little things to massive things and then fired it as CCP in no logical or priority order. CCP goes WTF and does nothing; fixes a few token things.

CSM 6 - Takes the most wanted list, prioritises it, gives CCP the most wanted/most important ones. CCP has a clear agenda to work with which fits in with their own development process.

My reasoning isn't Mittani is essential as it was clearly a group success but why try and vote in people who have clearly no idea when the last CSM worked well.
