I think railguns are pretty cool, and have had fun using them. I just happen to be a bit cynical about the average forum warrior and the obsession with Minmatar being OP.

They're fast, sure ... but I prefer my swarms of drones and "do or die" fits with the Gallente.

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

No Such thing as OverPowered, just bittervets complaining that their old cookie-cutter setups do not give them their l33t edge anymore because people have adapted/figured out how to counter their little trickses [/precious]

And this from someone who finds that suddenly his beloved many-times benerfed Drake is seen as OP....again...
To no minor amount of amusement and mirth, given the "Missiles are Useless in PVP" and "Caldari shipz Suxx0rz" comments from said bittervets this poor and humble HighBear has had force-opinionated on him for years.

Oh, and there is no way a flying scrapheap, or a blob of post-digestive evacuation can compare to the proper Fugly and excellence of Caldari design, and nothing beats seeing the trails of your little friends swarm through the starry void chasing a "nimble" glass-tanked nano-fit cursing the carebears' missiles... :P [/ubiquitous racial snobbery]

/me waits for the toon filling in for Amarr...

Highsec isn't "Safe".  Neither is it a playground for bullies and bottomfeeders. So stop complaining and start playing the game already.

I dunno, I think the Dramiel nerf was way overdue, as is the pending Drake change, and a nerf of the speed/agility/sigradius of all tier 2 BCs.

Something is "overpowered" when the effort, ISK, innovation and skill you put into making it work is completely out of whack with the effectiveness you get out of it. I was going to post a long list of examples but I realized this was the wrong thread for that. Let's not derail it.

The closest thing to a sandbox game I've ever played in comparison to this is SWG. The one thing that's really left me speechless about EVE is just [how much] of a free world sandbox this place really is and how tactics, unlike a huge array of other MMORPGs, can actually be rendered obsolete due to the sheer myriad of tactical variables this game presents to the pilot. It just totally blows me away. So basically the gist of what I'm getting out of all the answers that have been presented here is: Read a lot and learn from the University of Hard Knocks because any other way may very well be out-dated advice. Got it. I appreciate all the responses to this thread.
