I did not left EVE, at least not at the time of INCARNA

because
I consider money as an idea / an actual value of your time/work/effort and is actually more abstract then anything else
I consider INCARNA as an expansion, which has not been seen, as most of it was done behind the scenes/core improvement
I never flied gallante or hybrid platforms for that matter
I never was an capital/super-capital pilot and i never had to find out an decent tactics against them, as i am just an grunt.

i dont play anymore
Just keeping my subs up, one with CC other with PLEXes.

Crucible
Dont know most people says it was an awesome piece of work done in unbelievable short term
For me, well i did not realised any difference as non of those changes are somehow relevant to my gameplay.
But i like nebulas.

But it would seem that at least 2,5k people are skilled FCs or leaders of some major powerblocks which had to deal with plenty of different issues.

Anyway,
Welcome back.

If more people did, mmos wouldn't be as awful as they are today. Was glad to see the eve community (Most anyway) cared enough to quit to show CCP how utterly disconnected with the players they had become. (Mostly just that godawful CEO Hilmar of theirs.)

Oh, Hilmar's not that bad. Look at some other studios/publishers, and their choices. While he did let arrogance over expensive pantaloons get to his head, he seems to have since mended his ways, realized the error, and refocused the company back to making ossum spezships.

Also, if I'm not mistaken, Hilmar's been there at CCP from the start, yo. So it's as much his baby as anyone else's, and maybe more. Therefore if you like Eve you're as much indebted to him as any other CCPer, and maybe more. Thus you might want to speak more politely, even while protesting (as I did) and attempting to communicate reasonably. Namecalling achieves nothing beyond lessening the namecaller.

Lastly, I too am not against Incarna per se; full bodied avatars with gameplay attached would have been fine. What we got instead (ugly dollhouses with no interaction between players and an absurdly overpriced, limited set of optional clothes for purchase for the dolls) was NOT fine - it was rather the opposite of fine. It was an appalling content-free (look I can walk around in my rusty coffin hotel pod is not content) feature that was rammed down our throats, whether we wanted it or not, in the course of said ramming replacing the hangar view which was more functional. Thankfully CCP pulled their heads free of a certain orifice and allowed everyone their choice of hangar view or captain's quarters. So those that like the CQ still have them, and those that like the hangar view have that.

Well "he's not as bad as "insert other godawful CEO here" isn't much of a defense is it? Your almost certainly correct in that there are much worse people out there. This one just got caught in the act of fu****g his customerbase while laughing about it. (Almost literally in some cases.)

Now as for having learned his lessons, I read that crappy apology too, and that idea was absolutely squashed when a internal CCP employee leaked that Hilmar (And other executives) were saying the playerbase was wrong and they were right.

As for the "namecalling" first off I'm not trying to "communicate" anything to him directly. I highly doubt the man even cares whats said on these forums (Which was shown true during both the outcry and eventually riots.) Only when his job was in danger did that change. Next off, I add that bit to let off a bit of pure molten HATRED I feel whenever I read his name somewhere. I helps to vent that stuff, nothing more.

I also was just fine with the idea of walking in stations. I personally would love the option to take a walking character into a casino and play a few hands of high stakes poker with massive isk or capital ships at stake. If nothing else it would give something to do during station games other than market/ship spin/log off.

Everyone had their reasons for quitting during the incarna BS. Mine personally was the plans from CCP to implement "gold ammo" and if you are somehow blind to that having come along, a more obvious one would be outright buying ships for cash, where no manufacturer had to mine/build it first. That actually was only weeks away from being added before the riots.

Anyway, I'm glad things have turned around "for now". But I'm still extremely "burnt" from that experience, and will never quite see EvE the same way I used to before all that. It used to be the "un-fallable" mmo, and company. I was proven they are just as corruptible as any out there. If nothing else, it's pushed me more towards being a skeptic in life. For better or for worse.

Oh, I was here through the summer. And last summer. And several before that. I read the memo, the leaked newslettter. I was upset. I am still of the opinion that CCP's promise should not be 'we have no plans for 'gold ammo' but instead 'we will never 'gold ammo/ships/etc.'. Frankly I'm appalled at the NeX store and cash for clothing, at any price. The Deal, as I understood it, and as CCP themselves said, was that subscriptions pay for game development

However (not to defend the man, but to point it out) his SECOND apology was rather more soul baring and humble. Company actions since that second apology have been in line with 'getting' what it was we were (or are) upset about. Therefore I am more hopeful than upset. Currently. We'll see how things go.

You came back because the reasons you quit turned out to be fairy tales, with the exception of the ones we all know to be true. Next time, just stay gone.
