Wolf and ishkur are still good. The AF's are a great ship class right now despite a few of them being a little broken (read: Harpy).

Better not let Liang here you say that.

Why? The Harpy IS broken (in the oh so yummy OP way).

Petrus, I think most people just mistake having a pairT3 booster for having talent.

More seriously, that's fair enough, but flying frigates over and over makes the appearance of talent by giving you stupidly high KB stats (the newbies in my corp have better KB stats than the vets), getting you dumb kills (I killed an Arazu with a Rifter!), and making losses just look like ballsiness.

Over time they can actually result in skill as you learn flying tricks and what you can/can't kill. That is true of all ships, but it's easiest to learn with frigates because they're practically free.

... which only results in more of a "badass" reputation. Come to think of it...

I would also have to say that the Hawk is broken as well, but once people start whining, they will get nerfed. Considering how lacking Caldari ships are (on the cheap) for good PVP, I figure, I will just let them have their OP ships and enjoy it.

Seen a lot more Raptors around since the hybrid buff - that's cool.

Solo Rifter since 2009

I solo'd a Slicer with a Raptor! It was great fun. I haven't figured out a broken Hawk fit yet, though, or I might just fly it.

I like to roam/solo all over the minnie/amarr FW areas. If you fear the booster, just fight me in any system that doesn't start with Amamake....

Have you seen Korgtronix' Feeling Alright video? http://youtu.be/-36e6zDd3dU Even beside his shenanigans, the Hawk is great for counter fitting vs anything. Having one and going slicer hunting is very viable.

Yeah, I've seen you elsewhere too. I just give Heretics a hard time about using boosts, but in secret I'm training to use them too.

I've been thinking about trying out Tristans against the current FOTM AF frigs. While I suspect they are just going to die quite horribly I want to test this in-game against the majority of people who are bads :D

EDIT: lol i said AF frigs, not editing that fail and outing myself for being dumb Lol I wonder what DPS per second they do.

Tristans are pretty badass, and I would venture to say they have the best DPS per second / HP points combination of any T1 frigate. However, they are sluggish, particularly if tanked.

Even so, I don't think it would be able to take on the new AFs solo. They just have too much tank, and there aren't any that you have a great change of breaking the tracking of anymore (what with Jag, Wolf, and Retri getting tracking bonuses). However, if you happen to be set up against a combat ceptor like the Crusader or Claw at short range, you just might win! Two Tristans can also probably take down an AF, if you have a friend to fly with.

If you rail fit you might be able to survive vs the traditionally armor buffer fit AFs (Enyo, Wolf come to mind).

Can't think of any rail fit that does that, as all AFs sort of have the 0-10km range covered in damage even with short range guns, damage which the Tristan can't tank for long enough for its railguns to peck away at the AF. Also I'm not sure the Tristan could stay at 10+ km.
