What happened to the overview font?

I have had some real life issues crop up the past month and haven't been on much. But I was just able to get on and oh my gosh, the overview font is really confusing to read now. Letters are all smashed together, it's very tall and not wide and it hurts my eyes.

I went to overview settings to try to make the font smaller but now the overview boxes are also very small and honestly the smaller font is too small.

So what changed? We've been through two overview font changes and they both sucked. At least the last one was somewhat more readable with the small font option selected, but this one is just an eyesore.

Need stuff moved? Push Industries will handle it. Serving highsec, lowsec and nullsec - and we do it faster and more reliably than anyone else. Ingame channel: PUSHX

Well, why was this changed? That's what I'm asking. What changed, and why?

Because space-inefficient fonts displaying extremely important information in an information-dense part of a space-inefficient UI is terrible.

Basically, be thankful you can have a reasonable amount of visible columns in your overview without having it cover far too much screen.

They changed it to make it easier to distinguish certain numbers and letters, like S and 5, and, 0 and O, among other things

Aha, I figured out what it is. It got much more narrow and there is less spacing above and below now. The font is VERY narrow now.

I guess I just don't like it.

That was the first font change, not the overview-specific one.

I discovered that Eve really is a spaceships game and not just a space-themed version of Excel. Not sure what I think of that.

Imagine a universe where most systems have names like DO6 or YAO.

Now imagine it is essentially impossible to tell the difference between a 6 and a G, or a 0 and a O, and so forth.

It was even hard to tell between D and O, 8 and B, or S and 5 because square letters are futuristic or something. It was the worst damn font imaginable and it blew my mind when I came back after 4 years to find that they still used it.

Of course, if you live in empire where everything has names then you probably didn't notice it, but for us poor souls in nullsec it was a nightmare.

It is really compressed. Look at the numbers and look how there is no spacing between lines. Everything looks like it's very boxed in.

You and I must have very different ideas of what "no spacing" means. This looks perfectly fine.

I see no difference in the overview. All I see is that you've gone from a widescreen image to a standard one.
