So I've been away since a few months after Dominion came out, but I remember predicting that belt ratting was going to go the way of the dodo and anoms would be king after a while. Now that a bunch of time has passed, I'm curious what the meta is currently for making isk in 0.0. Was I right, or way off?

Oh, also, I remember the forums being flooded with people complaining that the industry meter was too hard to move (myself being one of them), making it extraordinarily difficult to get prospecting arrays up above 3 or so. Did they ever fix that, or does it still take an absurd amount of mining to get it up to 4 or 5?

Anomalies for steady income, Cosmic Signature's (plexes) for chances of high value loot.

Ratting is still viable in some systems but it's far easier to just go from anom to anom getting ISK.

Not sure on the mining question, sorry.

That's what I figured. When Dom first hit we still had tons of people stubbornly clinging to belt ratting, most of them saying because they wanted that chance of officer spawn (aka, sacrificing steady income to try to win the lottery). But anoms are the new norm, good to know.

Just to add ... some of the higher level anoms can have a faction spawn in the last wave and a chance to escalate to a plex which can drop reasonable loot - so overall they are much better than belts for both steady isk and faction options. I haven't seen or heard of anomalies with officers so I think that unlikely .. however, from my experience officer spawns in belts are extremely rare.

Ninja ratting wormholes is worth the time too but you have to be careful in C4 or higher wormholes because those rats are on steroids. Also, you must salvage and sell the loot in order to make money.

Exploration in null-sec e.g. DED complexes and profession sites have the potential to payoff big time.
Ratting anomalies tends to result in a grind feeling even though they have the chance of escalation.

To avoid this, just do the occasional DED site and sell the deadspace/faction loot. That's what I do.
