Ok. You convinced me. I refit, not exactly the way you had yours but along similar lines, and it kills the rats far quicker than my version did.

You can't AFK run the sites but the cap is relatively easy to manage just by "feathering" the LAR and injecting the odd bit of cap. If one were worried about running out of cap boosters there are loads of them in the wrecks you can pick up as you go.

Also, one LAR seems to be more than enough to tank a level 4 mission. My fit was probably overkill in the tank department and under-whelming on the dps side.

I made a couple of changes as compared to yours.

> No AB (I don't move around much anyway) so I substituted that for a sensor booster so I didn't need the sensor boosting rig.
> also only 1 drone link augmentor but I put a small T2 tractor beam on it so I could drag wrecks to me and collect the cap boosters if necessary -- result of opting not to put an AB on it

Conclusion: better dps, tank is more than adequate. You have to actually watch the screen but you'll clear missions quicker with this. Cyniac had the right idea.

Here's the fitting if you're interested in seeing what I did with your ideas.

Hi guys, I spent a lot of time getting my two accounts able to run L4's, and I am very disappointed that I have such difficulty running L4's. With the two accounts focusing fire on the same targets, neither of them can take the damage that is dealt to them.

I run LVL4 security missions solo in a Nighthawk with a passive shield tank

Setup is:

six heavy missile launcher II

Invuln field II
Heat Dis amp II
Kinetic dis Amp II
2x Large shield ext II

dmg control II
2x ballistic missle II
2x shield power relay II

Occasionally I have to warp out once if I agro all of them, but usually I have no problem tanking them all.

...

So the Rokh is definitely more effective than the Rokh, but even still, it can barely survive. I just don't know what to do. I mean, I could have one of them transfer cap or shields to the other, but then when the support ship takes aggro, it will force me to retreat. What the hell do I do? =((((((((((

So, periodically I've been running level 4s for years using the exact same combo of ships. Lots of things have changed in Eve over time and I regularly look in on these forums and see people suggestion super dooper awesome faction fit ships, but my old standby works great.

Raven (or any DPS ship really) and a Domi. The DPS ship ought to have some sort of a tank on it. The Domi is used as a support ship, remote repping (shield if Raven) and to put out drones. Use the Raven to take down the big stuff and the drones from both the raven and domi to kill the cruisers/destroyers/frigates (targeting tacklers first).

The advantage of the Domi is it has a decent native cap recharge rate (that you should obviously augment with cap chargers in your mid slots and cap rigs) and can fit a damned good tank in case it takes aggro (large and medium duel repper set-up preferably) -- the domi tank keeps you from having to warp out if it gets aggro'd. You have to be a bit careful about making sure that it's the Raven you use to get most of the aggro most of the time, the point is the Domi can take it for a while if you blow the mission and draw agro from the wrong group of rats.

This isn't sexy but that means it also isn't expensive.

I can fly any sub-capital ship from any faction at this point. I've tried lots of other two-ship set-ups but this has worked for me for the better part of 6 years, and often using fairly lowly skilled characters. At the lower skill levels you just need to swap out your resist mods to tank the predominant damage from the mission (use the mission reference sites people have been posting).

A two-DPS set-up can work like you've been trying, but you have to seriously up the DPS output from those ships you're using. Having a support ship that can tank, rep, and throw out some DPS (like my beloved Domi) will always be a safer, more stable option.

One should tank + decent dps, second pure dps almost zero tank, how to do it.
Warp to mission get full agro if possible while (tank got full agro) jump with pure dps ship, while in mission multiple trigers sadly you have wait untlil last spawn.

Personaly i use 3 account while i do mission, my setup.
Main tank on alt ship Tengu.
2x pure dps Nagas, zero hp bufor, zero active tank, both Nagas with 2x target painter, afterburner, sensor booster, tracing computer + scripts, low slots 3x magstab, rigs rate of fire + dmg rigs.

Remove all icons form overview OV should have only stargates, Sun, and rats, even remove form OV members in fleet, Sun on overview is emegency point where i can warp out with nagas if got problems, also i can algin to sun direction to feel safe while some rats may spawn, instant warp to point while algin form selected items window.

Personaly i dont use ships with drones even i have curple milion sp in drones, in fact i cant focus on 3 account + drones and give orders to all drones scope atak etc this cost time and my concentration, so i prefer ctrl+lock and fire...withaut drones, i have enough to lock and fire with my alts.

Think about tier3 battlecruisers they very good as dps support ships, tier 3 dps is compared to marauders even a lot better.

Ps. Afterburner must have, espetialy on bc-bs, or you have to deal with long travel to warp gates, some are up to 60km away form start location.
PPs.. "8 Modal Mega Neutron Particle Accelerator" man use rails not blasters! Rokh is sniper on mission, blaster are for pvp only...

If it bleed we can kill it.
