Maybe not strictly UI but here it goes:

ISSUE: If you have a PvE overview tab open and you try to watch the scanner you constantly have to switch Tabs
FIX: Expand the feature of "Use Active Overview Settings" so you can select the Tab to use for the scanner

I have been playing since 2007. I have a lot of cap! in many locations and so much so I just don't even want to take the time to clean it out.
ie 100 EMPs, Shuttles, T1 Meta 0 items.

Solution 1:
I would love an inventory items button that would clear out all inventory of item of less value than 1million (or a value I set) based on Jita Price Average. Or at a set meta level I choose or less. (risk of pressing button to easily)(for whole Eden universe)

Solution 2: Better yet at a station tab have a service "The Liquidator" That you can donated all your stuff to the Hungry mouths of Sisiters of Eave orphan fund or some other NPC in game Charity. I would be able to set paramaters I can set: like all meta 0 items and a value of less than 1mill worth. (for whole Eden universe)

Little email from the charity saying thankyou.... and a little concord faction ding as a reward.(Possibly)

This would possibly clear up some of the data base items and remove assest from the game effectively.

I have often thought about this, I'm sure alot of us have this issue.
It might be against CCP/EVE philosophy but I had the idea of hiring NPC couriers to haul stuff to a designated location. They would fly slowly through space on autopilot and have no defenses and would only be useful for moving small amounts of worthless stuff around (at cheap cost/effort). Perhaps no CONCORD intervention for them also.

Allowing Concord to haul would be a great isk sink this game needs and would provide a valuable service. Players can even have a more expensive option to have concord protection added to the NPC cargo haul.

ISSUE: category confirmation dialog on corp asset search - for instance if i'm searching corp assets for tritanium, an additional annoying and unnecessary dialog box will pop up asking which asset class it is.
FIX: personal asset search was simplified and improved could we please have the same improvements on corp asset search? thanks!

ISSUE: typing various corp asset names in corp asset search takes a long time
FIX: for corp asset search could we please have a drop-down for recent searches?

ISSUE: when going through massive piles of BPOs/BPCs I have no idea what the ME/PE is and what the number of copies left on the BP. Have to click show info hundreds of times. Highly annoying.

FIX: for BPOs and BPCs can we please please please have ME, PE and number of runs displayed ON the blueprint icon without having to click show info?? Could be as simple as 100/10/5 for me/pe/runs without explanation even. Super mega thanks, I'll owe you even more cookies.

There is already a solution for this, it's called Trash Item. However an annoying part about trash item is

ISSUE: you can't select multiple items across multiple statoins.

FIX: support selecting items across multiple stations.

ISSUE:
I often end up with the layout when there are two overlapping inventory windows and the larger window fully contains the smaller one which is on top. I want to move items from the larger window like in this example. Unfortunatelly when I click items to drag them from the large window and drop into the smaller the large window fully consumes the small one like this and I can't finish the operation. Sad

FIX:
Give focus to a window on mouse button release instead of push. Implement a 'keep on top' button for windows. P

The fitting window will allow you to save favorite fits, which you can then load to auto-fit your ship. This only works if the modules in question are in your main Item folder. I keep a separate container for each of my ship types (active shielding BF, passive Tengu/Drake fits, etc.). It would be amazing if the auto-fit feature could A) pull modules from containers and B) put them back if you choose to load another fit or strip the fitting.

ISSUE:
Lots of clicking to sell an item:

  • Right-click, choose Sell Item. Sell window opens
  • Click icon to view market-price

FIX:
Right-click, choose Sell Item.
Sell window opens up and the market window automatically opens for that item. Could be set as an option to toggle on/off.

ISSUE
Can't repackage/sell an item because it is damaged

FIX
Ideal fix - When you limp into station with damaged ship/modules, you are prompted with bill to repair, and a yes/no button to initiate repairs

Other idea - Change the background color of damaged ships/icons so you can tell at a glimpse what needs to be repaired.

ISSUE
Everyone has different - and legitimate - use cases for and against auto-stacking, auto-packaging and auto-sorting.

FIX
Every container (cargo hold, corp hangar, station hangar, POS ship hangar, station container, GCS, etc.) should have the ability to toggle on/off

  • Auto-repackaging
  • Auto-stacking
  • Auto-sorting

ISSUE
You can sell, contract and trash items in remote locations, but you cannot refine them.

FIX
Give the ability to right-click items in remote stations and refine the items.

ISSUE
You can select ore in your cargohold and choose "Move to Hangar and Refine" - which eliminates a step for miners. There is no similar process for re-processing salvage.

FIX
Give ability to select multiple loot items in ship cargohold and choose "Move to Hangar and Reprocess"

ISSUE
Icons for items are huge

FIX
Small icons option

ISSUE
No way to organize items in personal hangar other than buying cargo containers.

FIX
Allow creating tabs for personal hangar like you can with the corp hangar, or allow creating "folders" that hold items like a can but can only be used in the hangar for sorting items.

ISSUE
It takes forever to sell items one by one.

FIX
Selling multiple highlighted items brings up a table of all the selected items with checkboxes next to each one and displays the highest buy order price and percentage above/below regional average in the corresponding fields.

Actually, you guys already fixed my biggest beefs, which were dragging and dropping targets, and watchlist members. +1
BUT:

ISSUE: minimized local used to display local count. It no longer does

FIX: the square item on the neocom displays a large, easy to read local count. in this picture, there would be 167 people in local like so (obviously ccp could make it look nicer):
http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm2/KittJT/local1.png

ULTRA FIX: the condensed local list was good, but we can go one step further. while minimized, it could change the background so its shaded like standings. It would provide update, easy to read, and accurate information on the ratio of friendly, neutral, and hostile people in local, making the "local spike, scroll frantically through the list to see whose coming in" feeling. It would look something like this:
http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm2/KittJT/Local2.png

EDIT, i know this is an inventory ui thread, but meh. ui is ui.

Issue: Several mouse clicks and navigation for "select all", "Repackage", "stack all"
Fix: place 3 little buttons for those three in each cargo window / hangar

Issue: Item Meta level is hard to see in thumbnail
FIX: small icon on the item to indicate which meta level you are facing

Issue: some remote effect modules are hard to recognize cause thumbnail misses remote effect icon (like remote armor repairer)
Fix: change thumbnails so all remote effect module include a remote effect icon (like shield transporter )

It would be nice to have at least buttons for buying containers. Now I need to go to market and buy station container.

Also the items list is initially small, even smaller if you have many containers. Maybe add button that opens items window as bigger, so that I don't have to resize it all the time. This needs to remember its position exactly, not jump where ever it wants. The bigger window could have containers in separate list and items in hangar floor in separate. Then if you click a container, the bigger window would have a third list below the hangar floor list. That way you could see everything you need and drag and drop stuff around.

If a container had inner containers, the container list could have plus/minus signs to collapse. Collapse all should collapse also inner containers, not just the outer ones for show. And those should remeber per station where I left anything open.

But yes, in overall the identication of stuff quality and type should be clearer. And me too need selling multiple stacks of loot in one go.

Big mess when you have loads of items in one container

Fix
Add sorting options such as; Meta and Regional price

Regional price would be all kinds of awesomesauce.
