How many are there, and do they have names, and if so what are those names?

There's 42. Alecia, Barbara, Cedric, Dominique, Evan, Fred, George, Herbert, Ivan, Jamison, Kendrick, Louise, Marvin, Norbert, Ophelia, Patricia, Quincey, Roberto, Serene (yeah, one was named after me!), Thomasina, Ultrecht, Vernon, Wallingham, Xavier (only X name there is, right?), Yolanda, Zeke. (Then just add a 1 after all those...then 2, i.e., Alecia1, Alecia2, etc.)

I wanted them to name one after my dog, but his name violates the EULA. The neighbors love it when I call him. Only had the police over once.

We must accommodate the idiocracy.

I've been to different factions' regions and they all look the same Sad Maybe i didn't download the full nebula package Ugh

As far as I know, the only one with an actual name is the Cloud Ring itself. You can see it from Placid High Sec (Stacmon).

I thought they were named for the regions.. Like the sexy angelic white one in domain was well... domain

And a sudden plunge in the sullen swell. Ten fathoms deep on the road to hell.

I'd love to see my fellow pilots give names for the nebulae around New Eden, like how we name our Crab, Eagle, Horsehead, etc. I personally name the predominant Empire ones as:

Domain - Rapture
Rens - Inferno
The Forge - Ion Curtain
Sinq Laison - Hope

I'm not sure if anyone else has made up any other names, even whimsical ones, for other nebulae? Please share your ideas!

Named or not, they are a simple, but outrageously gorgeous and cool feature.

Is that a number of unique nebulas or is it a number of regional backgrounds?

Because some of the regions don't have a nebula of their own - like Derelik shows 2 nebulas - one of them is the one over Heimatar and the other is some Amarr one.

Unique Nebulae.

I believe each nebula covers an area of 3 - 5 regions. High Sec has 4 nebulas, one for each empire. This applies to Low Sec and Empire Null as well. Not sure how the division is in True Null. Cloud Ring down there is the obvious one.

I'm tempted to draw some nebulae myself for fun and give you guys them for free just to increase that number, been learning proportions too much lately.

Domain's Nebula is called 'WTF am I targetting?" (yeah I'm a little bitter).

Actually they are very beautiful, but the lack of a background to the targets is painful .
