The orbital bombardment will be only be able to done when dust players call it you wont be able to do it whenever you want.

and if two dust sides are fighting, you think either side will frequently refuse an offer of assistance from orbit?

Another tidbit for you: The technic was already explained, there will be geolocated dust gameserver, who download the information from the eve-cluster before the start of the game and report the result back to the Cluster once the match has concluded



Ahem the ground commander has enough war points for a strike.

He palces the marker down consuming warpoints.

This marker is lockable from orbit where via seiged dread cna then rain it down.

You are the kill streak bonus.

No, but the space side forces will need to have control in order to be able to do any meaningful damage, unless they want to lose a bunch of dreads as a result.

That being said I hope that EVE players can bombard planets with out specific orders from below, it does make sense that they Dust players can request an orbital strike, and that if a Dust player designates a target, the accuracy of said srtike is increased. But maybe somone just wants to blow stuff up without bringing in the mercs, or one side realises that they are losing and chooses a scorched earth policy instead of a counter attack. Since this is EVE they should be allowed to do that.

There is also the issue that Dust mercs can shoot back (highlighted the important bit) or even shoot first, which should prevent indiscriminate trolling carpet bombing of dust players.

As others have said, it's not just going to be open season shooting at DUST players on the ground. You're going to need to be called in and they're going to be shooting back.

I wonder if Dust will alow me to take a squad out into zero G space and plant nukes onto the side of orbital ships....that would certainly make life interesting.

Why not. A nuke the size that a person could carry, in a game where every shot fired is a nuke or better, would certainly be interesting and funny to see. Not sure it would be worth the effort though, but to each his own.

Either way if you really want to greif dust 514 players on the ground recruit yourself an assinine ground force commander. Hell make thier days miserable calling for orbital strikes on his own team for not following orders.

I hope some of you realize that DUST players get planetary guns that can apparently one shot dreads.

well the orbital bombardment will be from dreads by the contractor i would think and the guns emplacement the dust players can use to one shot a dread well will only be the ones there to attack the planet lol.

also i hear the gun emplacement can be destroyed before the dread is in place so thats not always going to be the option .
