I have a questiom about pi goods and getting them off planets. until now my planets have been the very small bit on the side of what i do on eve but im looking to set up a bigger load of them. unfortunatly one of my old planets is in high sec and im negative 10 so i cant go there in an industrial to pick it up. I have alts capable of doing so. Can anyone think of a safe(-ish) way for me to get my stuff off the planet in order to decommision tht planet. I dont want to loose the resources there pretty valuable. I was thinking if i get in fleet pod to the system and launch the resources (or can flip from the office?) then maybe i could get an alt to get the can before i have to run off. any better methods or help appreciated Pirate

you *might* be able to use a command centre launch (to a jetcan orbiting the planet) ... anything with moving from a customs office to a can will be hard to pull off before the navies/concord decide to have a word...

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

as i understand it if im in a pod im safe from the navy only players can kill me and theres only jita you can ever be caught unless some guy has a stupid locker.
How does the jet can thing work can i be in pod and fleet warp to the can in a safe spot. if so thats perfect, i only have around 5K m^3 so hopefully i can launch all that at once

No, you can't. A planetary launch maxes out at 500m3. That's why almost nobody uses them.

You're looking at 10 launches of 500m3 each and I believe there's a "cooldown" period between each one.

I have to ask: Is what you're trying to retrieve REALLY worth all of this effort? You're going to be blasting around trying to avoid the Navy due to your terrible standings. Honestly man, just decomission all of them from wherever you are. You can completely remove and destroy the installation from anywhere.

Call it "done" and make new ones that will be much more profitable and easier to use.

0. If possible, fleet with your alt, obvs can't do that if the chars are on the same account.
1. Fly to planet's customs office with your alt in a hauler. Wait there, or log off if must to log in the -10
2. Fly to planet's customs office in a shuttle, inty or whatever else helps you avoid the popo en route
3. Upon arriving in the system with the planet, launch your stuff to the CO
4. When the -10 char arrives at the customs office, open the CO, shove whatever fits in your cargo, jettison it. If each unit of the goods is too big to fit into your cargo (e.g. P4 and you're in a shuttle), jettison something like a bookmark just to get the container
5. Shove all the crap from the CO into the container.
6. Pick up with alt.

If you have more than 27.5m3 worth of stuff in the CO, just have your alt not pop the jet can when picking up the products, or have them make another one by jettisoning something small, and then put the rest of your PI into it.

That's exactly what I did when getting rid of a planet in high sec with a -8 character Smile

I would fly the alt to the planet in an industrial.
Jettison a can right next to the CO.
Fly there with your main in POD so no Concord or Navy issues.
Move stuff from CO into alts jetcan
log alt back in and pick up the stuff from jetcan.
This is even easier with 2 accounts as you avoid the logoff and back on.
If not fleeted or in the same corp with your alt you will be flashy red to them when you access their can, but no danger there as long as you do not shoot yourself with your own alt.

I have to agree here.......unless it's a Launchpad full to the brim of P4.

Forget about it and move on. This will not be worth it for the trouble and time either.

Why bother by the time you fly there and get the stuff out you could have gotten rid of them, started over, and had hours of production. If you are in NS/LS/WH the production rates are so much better you'll make it up in a couple of days.

On the other hand the navies aren't that bad in a T2 hauler.

- Have an alt drop off a t2 hauler with cloak.
- Pod over to the station
- Transfer everything up to the customs office.
- Open the customs office
- Undock, and warp to zero on the customs office.
- Open cargo while in warp
- When you land align to station
- Drag stuff to cargo
- Warp to station

It's just like doing PI in LS/WH.

I'm pretty sure you can't transfer anything from container to container, array to array, etc when in a pod. Don't remember when the last time I tried it was, though.

EDIT: Okay, I was right it seems. I just tried it and apparently my pod "doesn't have the necessary facilities to allow me to move items". So, no pod traveling to deal with containers unless you have a ship of some sort waiting for you at the destination so you can board it for the procedure.

Wow. Thanks for researching for this handy info. Smile
