Strange sound problem

I have an issue with the sound not working properly.

I have to open 2 EVE windows before it will work. I open the first, and I get no sound. I open a 2nd one, and it has sound. I have to do this twice every time i want to play with sound. I'm not changing any game settings before I open the 2nd window.

Has anyone else had a similar issue?
