At least they have half enough sense to not do it out in the open.

I don't always use hax. But when I do, it's because I'm an NPC.. http://i.imgur.com/PUZou.jpg

Oh dear. This would be so very moving if it had any relevance. Unfortunately, your buddy (Mitt) is philosophically opposed to anything we high sec folks want, as a rule. Offing botters in a world that endorses botters, a thousand you say, still a pittance, is a token that holds little value or meaning to us aliens...high sec players.

It doesn't take away the fact that Mitt has been on CSM for God knows how long and all we've gotten is the back of the CSM's hand. Mitt gloating all the while. Sorry. A few botters just shows in what pale regard you and yours hold us.

But, I tell you what...next time you have an orange bridge in San Francisco for sale, I know a few buyers.

We must accommodate the idiocracy.

im confirming eve24 is not a news site anymore but a propaganda tool. its onesided stories are worse than kugu. only garbage gers posted luftin on the former image that died long ago. getting true stories posted isnt possible anymore even when your offering first hand high command intel you wasting time.

eve24 went from a decennt news media to the north korean pyongyang national paper

How do you explain his documented support for incursion running then?

Tell me about all the times you've flown into our space, probed out some bots and reported them. Because nothing is stopping you. I mean, if you're such an expert on bots you've been playing this game long enough to at least fly a covops, right? Come and get 'em.

This...

If all you do is say this and this group runs bots you are doing nothing but wasting forum bandwidth. The solution is bot reporting on our end. Giving CCP data needed to run on their end.

The new CCP has ZERO interest in banning and removing bots. They make them too much money. The old CCP from many years ago did at least make an effort, but not enough. I'd be surprised if they don't start offering legal botting accounts that cost extra aurum to subscribe in the next year.

(As yes bro, I am mad at all the bots I see around me, I report them all, but they just come back with another bot103057238 account the following day. It's not even worth the effort when CCP won't put in any.)

PS: Oh and while I know the goons are killing macks not to remove botters, but to manipulate prices. Kudos on the few bots you did get in the process. That's more bot removal than ccp has done in the last year. (Even if it did take them 30min to replace the ships and move to a new system to bot in.)

What evidence do you have that CCP likes botting? Botting has KILLED mmos in the past.

Don't say Increased PLEX sales. PLEX has a hard ceiling even if it is at a billion isk per PLEX. There is only so much people are willing to dump in.

The fact is botting is not a simple IP ban or a few bans here or there. It is an EXTREMELY complex issue to tackle and the simple scripts of the old days are being replaced with highly adaptable botting systems that are sadly much harder to deal with.

To tackle that requires bots to be REPORTED.

People love to accuse large alliances of widespread botting because they know there's no way to disprove such claims. These are the same kind of people who irl go on about prominent politicians' birth certificates or whatever dumb conspiracy crap ignorant people are blabbing about in "knowing" voices this week.

No. Been popping the same obvious bots over and over since December.
Been reporting them every time I see them.
They are still there and still botting.

Really its not a big deal, because ganking them for T2 salvage and mods is actually a net positive on the wallet, because Tornados and Catalysts are awesome ganking machines. (catalysts are cheap, Tornados kill 3-4 or more Macks/Hulks at a time.)

Macroers can keep flying their bots, I'll keep crushing them and banking that ISK. Its a viable profession. If you do it right, you actually earn more ISK per hour ganking Ice botters than you can make mining the ice itself.

Though my fingers are blue from reporting the bots - my gut feeling is that CCP is far more likely to....
buff Concord/nerf Tornados - turning miner ganking into a 'net loss' and FURTHER protect them - before they actually sacrifice the subs and ban them.

That 'report bot' button? It does absolutely nothing except make people feel like something will be done - 99% of the people who use it rarely follow up on the bots as I do, so its a nice trick to give CCP more anti-bot cred without actually having to do anything.

EDIT: When I start to see some of the bots disappear (or get replaced with new accounts with new 'generated' names....)
I'll stand corrected. Until then I call it like I see it. Pushing the 'Report bot' button is basically as useful for removing bots as scratching your ass.

Another gem from the same post:

"But if it were the case that he had been ratting just a little too exuberantly for peoples' liking, or if he had offended them by consistently ignoring their conversation requests for a brief window of, say, seventeen or eighteen hours, for instance, then it would be goon-****ing to report him or to kill him. This will land you and your corp in trouble"

The Mittani, September 28th, 2011

Not only was that post not by Mittens either (again, it was by me), perhaps you should check and find out that the person in question was removed from our alliance.

As the person who called out Goons on this topic orignally, I'd like to remind you that there was an absolute denial of all things "botting".

So why was it neccessary for the person to be removed?

As for original post taken "out of context". Bullshit. Not only did Goons harbour and support bots and stated categorically it was NOT their problem, they've now taken to backpeddling on the subject by lying and pretending to be El Supremo bot-killers as well.

PS: The only thing you got right is that Mittens did not post this.

Nullsec democracy is an oxymoron. Bloc voting forĀ alliance candidates is Democracy for Morons 101. Let them perish in their self-interest.

Bring back Eve. OUR Eve.

I said proof. Not personal observations.

I want evidence as in CCP statements supporting botting if there are any. Stop side skirting the issue.

How do you know that a certain guy is botting (without killing him)? Unlike other games where bots are obvious, in EvE there's no difference between a bot and a real player ice mining.
You can see if the name is evidently a pattern or if he mines for a lot of time but that's it.

The only possible anti-bot effective campaign will happen when CCP makes player made mining less identical to botting.

Until then there will just be an anti-miner stigma.

Some players will try self policing the phenomenon (failing, because many times you can't even know who is a bot and who is not).

Most will just be the: "at school I could not beat on the special, defensless kid so I will take revenge on miners in EvE" kind of typical RL-repressed EvE "player".

Twice, actually. I'd post with my main, but I got banned for trolling...

My mother died when I was 7. A Large Caldari Tower broke into our house and brutally raped her whilst me and my father was forced to watch. The police never could find the tower as all that was left was 2 faction hardeners and her Skull.
