How to find corp name for war dec?

I am trying to make a war dec against a corp and when I try to propose a vote in my corp I can not locate the enemy corp name in search (select assailable corp or alliance). I am sure I have the name right. I even tried the names of the other corps in their alliance and none will show up when I try to propose a vote. I even tried the ticker names. What's up do they use false corp name some how to evade a war dec?

You cannot declare on a corp in an alliance, so try dec'ing the alliance instead.

you mean I have to fight them all. Sheet! That will cost me 50 million and not 2 million. Sucks. I'm all alone in this. I suppose that's what that would call a target rich environment. lol

You also can't Wardec from an NPC corp.
