Sansha's Vigil 2nd room

I'm having problems with the 2nd room. I'm using a Myrmidon but my DPS is not enough. What is the most effective hybrid ammo for Sansha's? I have been using Caldari Anti Matter but it takes forever to take out some of the ships. And the incoming DPS is more than I can take with the double rep Myrmidon I'm using.

Potentially CN Antimatter is already one of the highest damage hybrid ammos, if you can manage good range and tracking (which might be your actual problem). Maybe Javelin/Void could beat it by a little bit, but that would be barely noticeable I think.

More importantly: are you using Amarr or Gallente drones? Cause their damage types would be most effective against Sanshas.

Since Myrm has no hybrid bonus you could use projectile weapons, then you can choose ammo that deals EM damage.

Do it in a Tengu.

Warning: the 'new' DED Site Sansha's Mining Outpost (or something to that effect...too lazy to lookup this early in the morning) has MUCH MUCH more DPS than Vigil. Definitely Tengu or BS there as well.

If you can actually complete Vigil in a Myrm.................wow Shocked Do-able with patience and warping away (but a lot of DED sites evaporate now whith a warp-away), but what a WASTE OF TIME. Just because one can do something, does not mean it is actually worth doing.

Your problem is most likely tracking disruption from the "Loyal" NPC and poor drone skills. Try to get really close and flying the same vector as your target. Don't orbit. Pretty much like exchanging broadsides in the good old days.

The only thing of any worth is the Overseer btw. Read up on the EVElopedia on what triggers him and next time complete only the minimum requirement to kill this guy.

Thx for the advise guys, but as Krixtal noted the site evaporated when I re-enteredCry. Also, i think my low drone skills is my main problem which I mean to correct shortly(just have a bit more to go on my core certificates). I was using Hammerhead II's and Warrior II's for this site. Unfortunately, I couldn't tank the DPS in the 2nd room and had to warp away.

It's a tough one for sure.....thus my warning about the Sansha Mining Outpost one.....which I ALMOST warped away from in my Tengu, but it hung in there at about 1/2 Armor.

Also, you will want to use Acolyte II's in Sansha Sites.

With poor skills you're gonna have a bad time. With good skills it's quite easy if you manage the triggers properly. Don't shoot the stasis tower right away Blink
Dualrep is the way to go. Also, depending on what gunnery skills you have, you might consider trying autocannons with EMP.

I disagree. Hobgoblins target the second weakest resist, and their increased damage more than makes up for it.

This right here, this is the problem. Once you have Drone Interfacing 5, etc. the Myrmidon will blow your mind.

Thx Tabernack for your advise. Unfortunately, I have about 3 weeks more skills in Spaceship Command and Gunnery before I start my 5 weeks of Drone skills including Drone Interfacing V. I'll get there but its just frustrating taking priorities as they come in my skill plan.Ugh Guess I just wasn't ready for this one yet.

On another topic regarding this site. I am close to T3 cruisers but being Gallanteen the Proteus would be my easist route. Are there configurations of this ship that could handle sites like these? I realize that everyone seems to prefer the Tengu over all other T3's but is it really my best choice?

all t3 can have insane tanks on them.. they are small nimbe and agile.
and now they have fixed the hybrids.. a little... it might be twice the ship your myrm is.
I'm a stong beleaver that everyone should promote theyr own racial ships so try the proetus... you can always sell it... and it isnt too bad to train those pesky rank 1 skills.

This is the key. If you want to use a myrmidon, you need the drone skills. For the first 8 months or so of my EVE life (I've only played 10 so far) I went very heavy drones. I only just got T2 medium hybrids maybe 3 weeks ago finally. And I could handle the Sansha's vigil in a myrmidon.

As the myrm gets no turret bonus, the guns are not all that important. Plus the guns are largely going to make you have to get too close in some cases.

So they key is the drone skills if you are going to be using drone boats (vexor, myrm, domi etc). For a myrmidon, IMO, your training should be tank, then drones. Gunnery last.

Sounds like you're trying to kill everything on the grid.. in which case why do plexes? You're after faction loot, not bounties.

In 2nd room, align, kill the stasis tower, kill the Overseer, bookmark the wreck, warp out, warp back after two minutes, loot and move on.

A dual-rep Myrm should be able to hold off the dps for that time I would have thought.

Sounds like you need to train up Gallente Drone Specialization, then.

I can confirm that Hobgoblin II's do, in fact, do more overall damage to Sansha than Acolyte II's because of the damage modifier.

You already said that about 2 hours ago - try again. Also, try clicking the bold key once instead of 4 times, forum scrub.

Wanna teach my nephew how to type as well ?

Sorry, no rules about how many times one can hit the BOLD key.
