Foward to Recon Cruisers or Back to Covops Frigates

I'm at a loss on which path would benefit me more.

Recon Cruisers
I have recon cruisers trained and have access to the rapier. I can fit it with full T2 gear, and the level 4 cloak. The only thing I need to train is the 650mm art cannons 2, (Working on it but it'll take 20 days.)

If I continue with recon cruisers I can unlock the ships in about 20 days for each race. (Only pre-req. at this point is cruisers 5). I'd really like to get the curse/pilgrim because I am told they are very useful ships.

I have a good deal of the electronics/engineering trees maxed out, and I have T2 launchers. My drone training could use some work though.

Covops Frigates
Since I can already fit recon cruisers fairly well, fitting frigates won't be a huge issue. Each race will take about 7 days to unlock each set of ships.

My only question to ask is, "is it worth it?" Should I take a step back, invest some time, and pick up these babies, or would I be better off just continuing on the recon cruiser path?

Train every cruiser and every frigate to 5, it's only 24-29 days per race.
You get access to all the HICs, Logis, Recons without any weapon skills,
and if you bother training all the medium weapons, you can also fly every HAC and T3.

Versatility is p cool and with it, you're immun vs. nerfs.

That's the plan. I like how Eve offers such versatility. I'm just wondering which one I should do first. I've already come so far with minmitar recon cruisers, but the covops frigates are just a stones throw away.

EAFs are widely regarded as uneven and generally lacking in useful bonuses (and hideously low lock range/EHP). They can work, but are much more niche than Recons. I'd go Recons first and due to the structure of ship bonuses, I'd make absolutely sure to train Recon to 5.

Additionally, EAFs don't cloak. If you want a solid option for a cloaky frigate, you can't really go wrong with stealth bombers.

Alright thanks :)

I think after I can fully fit my Rapier, I'll tech towards the curse/pilgrim and work on outfitting them properly.

Pending on where that goes, i'll either shoot for Caldari and Gallente recon cruisers, or move on to other things.

Training all races cruisers and frigates to 5 is a really good move, it provides you the versitility of being able to integrate with nearly any fleet. T2 med weapons aren't that long to train either and you don't have to train heavy/sentry drones, big plus there. It's your call but recon 5 and all cruisers 5 was one of the best moves I've ever made. Also if your flying recons, cyno 5 is a very good call.

MMOs come and go, but Eve remains.  -Garresh-
