does anyone have any advice if i were to go to look for solo pvp in a destroyer, i was thinknig a coercer as my skills are mostly amarr but that leaves me with either the option of kill it before it can run or dont fit a prop mod and fit a point,

i have destroyers 5 can fly all race dessies but would rather amarr (most of my weapon skills are lasors)

is it possible to fly a solo coercer or should i not bother?

thanks

Thrasher or Catalyst. Catalyst has its flaws... thrasher is just win :) Good luck!

Yes you can. Go for it. Best way to learn is to get out there. You would be surprised how viable coercers are even with no scram. Just make yourself look vulnerable.

Something like this?

[Coercer, Coercer]
Damage Control II
Heat Sink II
Heat Sink II
Tracking Enhancer II

Limited 1MN MicroWarpdrive I

Dual Light Pulse Laser II,Scorch S
Dual Light Pulse Laser II,Scorch S
Dual Light Pulse Laser II,Scorch S
Dual Light Pulse Laser II,Scorch S
Dual Light Pulse Laser II,Scorch S
Dual Light Pulse Laser II,Scorch S

Small Energy Burst Aerator I
Small Energy Locus Coordinator I
Small Energy Locus Coordinator I

obviously not having a point is somewhat 'niche' but it does so much DPS to stuff that you can actually get kills when people underestimate it, which they do a lot because "lol, one midslot" and "lol, no scram".

Of course you can also forego the mwd for a point but it requires different tactics. Its the sort of thing that can work if you camp plexes.

This is the fit I also use on a Coercer.. It puts out a lot of DPS and can actually kill something before it can warp away if they aren't smart. The idea is to target AB fit AF's or other slow frigs. You set your orbit at like 13.5km and orbit the target which sets the trap of them trying to approach you. Essentially if they try to catch you they will be dead before they realize how much damage you are doing and likely won't have the chance to align out and warp away.

It can also kill fast frigs like interceptors but the idea is to bait them into trying to catch you but you stay out of range, which is easier done vs AB fit frigs.

Thrasher is the best way to go.

However I have seen the coercer used successfully as an anti frig ship. That lonely 1 mid slot is what handicaps it the most.
