R.DB's, data sheets and other stuff

Hi.
I have a question:
stuff like
R.Db - Roden Shipyards
R.Db - Duvolle Labs
Data Sheets
is listed as being required for copying/material research/time research.
However, all of these don't need it (and seems not possible to apply it).
Am I missing something here, or are they plainly obsolete/useless?

From my understanding they are necessary for tech 2 BPO's.
As the BPC data comes from the BPO data, they are listed on tech 2 BPC's you invent, but since you cannot copy/me research/pe research BPC's it looks odd.

They in do need it to submit the job. They appear on the quote with 100% damage (consumed).

Example, copying rig BPO requires datasheets. I just did a bunch of these last week.

Ah, I had not noticed that rigs needed them even for tech I.....hmmmm...

R.Db are only used if you are doing ME/PE research on a T2 BPO. So, unless you own a T2 BPO... not much use for them.

There are a few T1 BPOs which require odds and ends to research, but they are few and far between. I still have a stash of "Reports" sitting in a lab array from the last time I had to research one of those.
