I only troll people who deserve it, and only if I can be arsed to do it. Mostly I'm just too apathetic to care about their antics, though.

I do agree with the OP but i would however point out that it is not there job to provide subtitles on videos for the Minority.

Unfortunatley in this day and age that is the way things stand. Do not get me wrong, i do agree with you, as it really doesnt take much effort but they have no legal obligation to do it.

But i wish u the best of luck

Under UK law, all business' must make their services accessible by those with disabilities (Disability discrimination act applies), now there is a grey area when it comes to 'web content', however, I understand there are guidelines in place for web content and accessibility to those with disabilities i.e. In 1999 the Web Accessibility Initiative, a project by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), published the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines WCAG 1.0. In recent years, these have been widely accepted as the definitive guidelines on how to create accessible websites see linkie :- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_Accessibility_Initiative

If CCP are providing content within their web pages akin to videos then at the minimum they need to consider those guidelines. By doing so, it would enhance their reputation for supporting what is a minor request for a small minority of players in the environment ... the value added far outweighs any legal obligations tbfh !

I can get behind this idea, whilst not deaf I do sometimes struggle to understand the amusingly accented english in some of the CCP videos.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

Those are the words of a feckless tool.

I can only speak for the Eve trailers on youtube, but I'll make sure they'll have English subs along with our other supported languages from now on.

By that logic its not their job to provide localized clients or any content in any language other than Mandarin Chinese (or Spanish). But you know those damn Americans and their ******* English. Damn minorities and their demands.

I think the issue here is confusing the concepts of "obligation" and "just good business". No, CCP is NOT obligated to provide localization in your language, majority or otherwise.. but it would be a poor business decision not to. Same in this case.. they are not obligated to subtitle their vids, but it's a good idea to do so.

I'm glad they're going to subtitle the vids.. I know at least 2 Goons that are deaf, and they're p chill.

I approve of this service for I, too, am hearing impaired.

I already struggle to hear my FC. How do you think I can hear your trailers with all that background noise?

How may I drug you with drugs?

When I first started playing this game I had the pleasure of flying with a very competent deaf female pilot. Various people took the time to communicate voice comms as quickly as possible to private chat in pvp situations. There is no reason why ccp can't take the time to try to be supportive too and I am sure they will.

Nice move. Thank you.

Edit: - Oh, and a big thanks to kil2 for permission to use his videos.

I've sent a request to Agony Unleashed, also... but pending permission, here's their video on Tracking in PVP, and Spiralling-in... (Just uploaded/Stolen...)

English subtitles will also be useful for those of us watching in noisy environments, or environments where being quiet is necessary.

While we're at it can we get English subtitles for mumbly Brits speaking "English" on comms?
