Serpentis Phi Outpost - flukey drop?

I almost never run complexes but, from what I can find on the forums, this seems like an extraordinarily lucky drop: 1 Shadow Serp Sensor Booster, 1 Corelum C-Type Energized Reflective Membrane, and 1 Corelum C-Type 10MN Afterburner. Should I consider this once-in-a-lifetime stuff or should I just be doing more complexes? All in a 0.8 (and busy) mission hub.

Not once in a life time, but not an everyday occurrence either :P You'll often get something like this then a dry spell for days or weeks before you hit it lucky again

Features like if the system is "busy" or if its a "mission hub" have no impact on drops. Random is random.

Definitely a lucky drop. There will be times when you only get overseer effects. Maybe with some level 1-4 meta loot. Maybe you'll get a BPC. Maybe you'll get 4 Corelum C-type mods. Maybe you'll get a mix of all of this.

Drops are random. We sacrifice virgins in the hopes that they bring us better drops, but deep down, we all know this ritual is in vain.

It is all random.

Reflective membrane is rather low worth, AB maybe 130 million, and don't know about sebo.

I got a C-type EANM and 2 C-Type passive energized hards from a Phi-Outpost once too. I think those are pretty decent plexs..

So far from different runs I have got,

1 EANM, 1 Kinetic Passive hard, C-Type 10mn MWD, 1 EM Passive hard
1 SS Mag Stab, 1 Kinetic Passive hard
1 Kinetic Passive hard
1 Therm Passive hard, 1 EM Passive hard
1 EM Passive hard
1 EM Passive hard

6 x Nothing

Then I could not find it in my region for about 2 months and stopped looking.

Pretty much, a couple of those "nothing" where between the period I was getting drops, but the rest were at the end before I stopped finding it. I'm sure its out there, and I was just being beaten to the sites but its simply more profitable to grind lvl4's or incursions.

Its fairly random crap that sits in a can of useless modules. Goes with all my non rainbow platings, small remote armor reps / shield reps and other such useless modules.

The MWD, and the Mag Stab are on ships. I didn't have a use for the EANM as I have support skills to 5, so I can fit the t2 version instead which of course is cheaper, so I sold it.

I havent seen the Shadow Serp Sensor Boosters drop in months..a few weeks ago the Phi Outpost dropped both a Corelum AB and MWD plus the EANM..I went Shocked

But hey then you can run it five times and get nothing so it all balances out.

Amen. I had 2 Phi's in the same system once, one dropped the EANM, the other a AB and MWD. But then you'll have that cursed dry spot that inevitably follows you lucky streak, and get nothing but Overseer Effects. But its the burden and blessing all explorers bare.

Plus if you're short of CPU you can fit an A-Type adaptive nano. About 90mill per, but with level 5 armor comp skills you get even better resists than a T2 EANM. I've had several of those drop from escalations into lowsec. They're so useful I've never sold any of them.

Thanks all. I will consider myself lucky until I have a dry spell, at which point exploration will be declared broken.
