CSM Vote Match login details sent - Candidates please fill in your profiles ASAP

For several CSM elections now I've run my Vote Match! website. For those of you who don't know it, it's a website that aims to match the user to a CSM candidate based on both of their answers on a questionaire, and is used by thousands of voters every election. The concept is based on the real world dutch Stemwijzer and the british Vote match. For Eve it can be especially useful because of the large number of candidates in each election can be quickly reduced to a shortlist of people that match your outlook on Eve.

I have sent each candidate their login details via eve mail. Only candidates that have filled out their profile will be included in the matching process. So candidates, please check your eve mail, and voters please remind your favourite candidates to fill in a profile! The deadline for setting or changing your answers is March 3rd, after which all profiles are irreversibly locked down.

If you have any questions or run into difficulties, please do not hestitate to contact me.

Some notes:
* Due to evemail being not very good, it converted some ' (single quote) into ' and some spaces (primarly just before your password) to  . Please keep in mind that this is not intentional and that   is NOT part of a password, and that ' should be ' (single quote).

i LOVE Vote Match! It's a really great idea and a valuable service for the community. When this years results go live, try it out even if you already have a candidate in mind.

I think this is a really good idea. Having said this, I din't really have a hard and fast view on several areas.

Since you're more familiar with the process than me, do you mind if I pick your brains on what's the expected form?

Should I as a candidate have a developed view on everything, is this expected? Or is it enough to have a view on some stuff and be open minded on other areas?

Any advice or wisdom that you wish to share would be appreciated. Thanks.

It's generally better to take a position on items rather than a 'no opinion'. Afterall, as a CSM you will be expected to discuss gameplay areas outside the ones of your personal interest.

nice platform to compair ideas and opinions across the CSM candidates rather then the usual "everyone needs love and attention"to keep the voters happy.

Filling in 40 questions and text first looked like work, but soon i realised that i could come up with alot more. Stuff like new skills, wormholes isnt even touched as subject.

Its a nice way of showing people options outside the "i vote for my powerblock"voting behaviour we often see on CSM elections.

Last time the phrasing of the questions left a lot to be desired. Some issues were impossible to agree with without saying you thought they were the most important thing while others you could just agree needed attention. If I were feeling uncharitable (as I was last year) I'd say that this was an attempt to skew people's decisions towards certain candidates. Have you fixed this?

I always try to make the statements as diverse and impartial as possible. I don't really know how candidates will vote so I don't see how I can try to skew people's decisions.

Additionally I posted requests for statements on both the official eve forums and failheap, and made the list based on that, the questions from last time and the CSM meeting minutes. I had my proposed 'final' list up for review on failheap for a while (I ended up changing some questions as a result of the feedback there). As such I feel I've gone sufficient lengths to ensure statements are as neutral as possible.

Also keep in mind that these statements exist to highlight the differences between candidates, not to give candidates a place to advertise their campaign positions. As such, some statements are intentionally designed to elicit polarised responses.
