So, me and my combat pilot have decent skillpoints and can fly almost any subcap pretty well. I decided to take up nullsec exploration. The first time I did this, I chose a Gila. (fleet boosted with my alt).

Unfortunately this turned out to be not enough tank for some of the harder complexes (it had about 500 passive tank) and besides the DPS was pretty abysmal.

The type of rats I was shooting were Sansha. So, I wanted to use a T3, so I figured the Legion was the best choice, because it does EM damage and Sansha rats have low EM resist. However, that turned out to not be the case.

First problem: far-away stasis web towers. A Tengu can hit these no problem. My Legion had to slowboat(I'm talking like 37m/s) about 30 km closer to them before it could even hit them, even with scorch and optimal range tracking computer.

Second problem: Tracking disruptors totally screw me. Sometimes I can still get damage in, if I fly right up 0 meters away, but this generally causes me a ton of trouble.

Third problem: Today I was doing Radiance and in the first room one of the drone frigates was orbiting me because I couldn't pop him before he got in close, I literally had a tracking computer with tracking speed script, AND he was webbed, AND I still could *not* hit him no matter what I did. I tried to lower my transversal for like 10 minutes, couldn't hit him a single damn time.

So, time to sell the Legion :) But here is my question,

If I use a Tengu, how quickly does it take down Sansha rats? Secondly, is it better to use kinetic missiles on them or should I use EM, even though they don't get the Tengu's damage bonus? Does anyone have experience killing Sansha rats with a HM Tengu? Any advice is appreciated from experienced pilots.

So, you're saying that using the proper damage type missile (em) does overall more damage to Sansha rats than using kinetic missiles (which the Tengu gives a 25% damage bonus to)

That is basically my question. Can I get some more input on this?
