You can't beat the goons, but you can slow them down

Look folks, if the goontards want to destroy your ice mining ship, they will.
They have the resources, pilot base, and will to do it.

But...you don't have to make it easy for them.

Up the ante by flying miners that have more tank.
Force them to bring more, and I mean a lot more, chars to the ganking, or more expensive gank ships.
Naturally, this will dramatically reduce your hold sizes and nerf your ISK/hour.

You will have to weigh the survivability vs the reduced ISK/hour to decide what is better for you.
And eventually, the goons will show up with enough firepower to blow you up.
But they will likely take out the easy pickings first before messing with the heavier tanked ships.

Anyway, below is a fit that I am testing out.
Will run for 3 cycles before hold is filled.
It also requires a 1% implant in slot 6, which should run you about 1 million.
The Domination kin amp is "relatively" cheap, especially when compared to the cost of the Hulk.

The solo tank on the ship as fitted with my skills is slightly better than 33K against blasters, (catalyst / thorax is atm the ship of choice of these jerks. That will likely change if enough people tank their ships, but that increases the gankers' costs)
If you by some miracle can get a well-piloted Vulture to boost you, tank bumps up to 41K.
33,000 buffer will take some doing to chew through before Concord shows up.

Thank you for posting your fitting ideas for your mining vessels in C&P. I'm sure many here appreciate your endeavor and will take it into great consideration upon their return to the belts.

I would also recommend taking your mining operations to a system such as Old Man Star, where you will find many helpful individuals ready to interdict anyone coming to harm your mining vessel. Between your tanking ideas, and the supportive local of Old Man Star, your mining operations shall prevail!

EDIT: I see you are using your hulk to mine Ice. Old Man Star may not be as effective but you will find great raw minerals to your liking.

You don't have to be faster than the bear, just faster than the guy next to you.

You don't need a perfect security system, just a better set up than your neighbor.

You don't need an indestructible mining ship, just one more expensive to gank than the miner next to you.

Seeing a pattern yet?

Yes, because the members of the CFC seriously have nothing to do but come to C&P (a pointless forum) and **** it up about an ice interdiction, that is being performed by 1 corp. Obviously there is a recent lack of Goon hatred, so we need to stir the pot up a bit Roll

Yes, because suiciding an Exhumer in low sec is exactly like protecting oneself from high sec gankers.....er...um..not.

Confirming that because we are such a small alliance this would be difficult for us. Excellent tactic.

can't you miners check local and the overview a bit more?

Can't you align, ready to warp out?

Come on..... if you're smart about this, you can spot the buildup and escape.

AND.. can't you just set standings to known gankers to red? --- give you more warning.

Just a thought..

.................It's the eye of the tiger, it's the thrill of the fight Risin' up to the challenge of our rival And the last known survivor stalks his prey in the night And he's watchin' us all with the eye of the tiger...............

It's a lot funnier when you put a tanked hulk out and they fail on it repeatedly...
Like most large alliances they have a few capable people, and a lot of trash. Watching the trash try and emulate their leaders is some of the best comedy in the game. Shocked
