Loaning & CONCORD

Good evening everybody,

First i'd like to thank you all for taking the time to read these suggestions of mine for EVE.

Give me my money back!

Many of you will understand, through sheer paranoia, or from learning the hard way, that trust in this game can be hard to come by. Some of you will have been scammed, through attempting to find a legitimate business transaction. Somebody borrowed your ship, or your money, and never gave it back.

EVE, I do believe, is not an entirely lawless universe. We do have highsec, we do have CONCORD, and supposedly four governing races.

Perhaps it's time to implement a system that almost imitates one that you will find in real life, today.

Today, by law, if you don't pay a loan back to a bank, it can repossess your assets and your money. People are not just morally obligated on some ambiguous variable known as "trust", but must, by law.

I propose that a true system of loaning is implemented. I by no means, mean to say that a persons liberty should be taken away. If somebody does decide to sneak off with all the money without paying back, I feel punishments enacted by the law should be put in place.

Perhaps a bounty is placed on their heads, for the same amount that was stolen. Similar to an FBI reward. Of course, the Bounty system is a system that does not work at this current stage of EVE. People might just end up shooting themselves with an alt to collect the money.

Which leads me on to my next..

Shady dealings

The EVE universe.

People pirate.
people steal.
people kill and maim and pillage.

People want revenge.
But sometimes a little industrialist can't do anything.
They're just not the right person for the job.

Mercenaries and Bounty Hunters. Hunters by trade. Killers by profession. They seek and destroy all who have tresspassed the law.

The current bounty system, as it is, is flawed. People sit in Jita almost proudly, waving around their 500,0000,000 ISK bounties to everybody passing by who can't touch them, and then they clone jump away. And once they're tired of pretending to be wanted, they kill themselves and get their own reward.

This needs to be fixed.

Advertising of bounty targets comes through certain agents.

For small, 5k bounties, I understand why people aren't allowed to shoot them in highsec. People don't want to lose their slave implants, their +5 implants for a measly 5 grand bounty that turned the 1700 pilots in Jita, against them.

There has to be different kinds of bounties.

How did the old posters go? "Alive or dead!"

- Bounties can be to CAPTURE ALIVE. ( Below 10mln ISK on their heads can fall into this catagory. )

-Bounties can be to CAPTURE DEAD OR ALIVE ( Above 10mln ISK on their heads can fall into this catagory.)

The capture system

A highsec warp disrupting bubble.
It will act as a "lasso" or a "web" or a "net" that only works on people who have a bounty, and can only be used by Bounty Hunters. ( people who have accepted the contract ).
Then, the captured pod (or body, if they're taken out of their pod) is taken to a CONCORD station for arrest and the bounty paid.

This way, the criminal loses their ship ( and perhaps something else. sec status? ) but does not lose those valuable implants over a measly 5,000 ISK bounty.

A whole host of things can be implemented here, to make EVE a more realistic game in a supernatural environment. to me, the added realism would be a bonus.

I have a lot more ideas for this fabulous game, and would love to flesh them out even more. Perhaps the bounties are assigned by CONCORD, and paid by CONCORD for some certain offences.

Perhaps there is an underground bounty hunting system and an official one, the official being driven only by CONCORD listed bounties, the underground bounty hunting system being driven by players who are out for unlawful revenge.

Perhaps this "underground" system can flesh out into a black market where all sorts of illegal activities are driven and catered for.

I understand that the bounty system has been mentioned several times, I just linked it into the previous idea as the two go hand in hand in understanding on a more broader degree in how the systems work together.

Thank you for taking the time to read all of this, and any feedback would be very much appreciated.

Kind Regards,

So if I loan my alt a billion isk capital ship, don't give it back, and then with a third alt claim the resulting bounty on my first, I get a free billion isk (Minus the cost of an empty clone and maybe a rifter)?

I like the cut of your jib Twisted

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

Heh, I used to send an alt to jita every now and then and cry about how I had a bounty, and explain I'd only lost sec status from trying to kill carebears in high sec. Then I'd go on about how awesome I was, and how no one could ever touch me, so it wouldn't matter that I had a bounty anyway.

Eventually people kept putting more and more ISK on the bounty, because they believed they were winding me up, then once I was happy with the amount I jumped my alt out and podded him :)

Anyway, in response to your actual proposal, no. Might be cool to see some silly little contract style loan thing, which keeps a record of loans being paid back and maybe punishes people with sec hits. But I'd only be happy with that because it can be scammed quite easily, which I'm presuming means you won't be happy with it.

The essence of "Loaning & CONCORD" is a major reason why the real world economy is such a failure.
