Can flipping newbies on trial, harassing new players, anything that impacts new folks (Under a couple weeks) who are just trying to get started and figure out what they think of Eve. I really enjoy watching the drama they cause, but frequently they cross the line to attack the lifeblood of Eve. And then they brag about it. Not cool.


I'm going to do what no other goons will do: Give you insights on our culture.

We recruit more newbees with promises of griefing, than CCP can recruit with terrible youtube videos. I am a product of this.

Point out actual instances of us can flipping newbies on trial. If you use instances of miners, then that is their fault for being miners. We have a very fierce newbee friendly culture. We want people to play this game and get hooked. If we do, we can blow up their expensive ships later on. If any goon griefs a newbee, they are summarily disciplined and publicly shamed via an all-all jabber broadcast. They usually have to do something embarrassing and several thousand CFC members get to laugh at them as a result.

I just wish I could understand what kind of mind Goon leadership must have to derive enjoyment in destroying the enjoyment for many others in this game.

Actually, it is pretty clear. Goon leadership are sociopaths.
It really does not matter that "Eve is just a game, and it is a sandbox".

Though it is quite impossible to do, it would be extremely interesting to have professional clinical psychologists study Goon leaders in and out of game, and compare their real world lifestyle with that of their Eve game style.

I personally believe that the correlation would be extremely high.

Market manipulation is the best part of the trading game. It's bragging rights when you can get dbags like the OP to cry about it on the forums.
Given the responses already OP has already proven he doesn't really have a clue what's going on.

If it wasn't for guys like the goons all we would have is the stupid local spammers and backstabbing alliance leaders.
Somebody should blow up the OP's POS to rid him of the burden and cost.

I am bored so I will now shitpost.

My corp started in highsec, strait from World of Warcraft coming from the worlds largest WoW guild. 200 carebare newbies and 2 :bittervets: decided to expand themselves into EvE online. We showed up and derped around in empire for a bit then the **** hit the fan....We mined out almost every belt in scheenens in one night witch happened to be the home of a super miners corp of some kind. They did not like that we could do what we did and that we came from wow. They saw us much as Goons see most of empire...pubbie scum.

So they payed empire mercenary corps to come and crush us. We became prepetually wardeced.....

This is the part that those who are crying because big bad goons are "greefing" them need to pay attention to.

We rode out every week and hunted the hunters....Our killboard ratio went to **** and still we reshiped and bashed ourselves into these mercenaries who would crush us for their rock hungry masters. I will not say that we ever bested any of these corps but I can tell you this....More than one came to us to negotiate terms of surender that where very reasonable....every one of them where turned away and at least one of them refused to give us terms because they realized that we would not take them anyway. We still, in a dark corp hanger somewhere have the corpse of the first kill that our home defense fleets made and that is a trophy that will never leave us.

This meatgrinder only really stopped when we joined TEST Alliance and moved to Null sec. I have no doubt though that eventually we would have made ourselves known and I have no doubt that if we where still in empire today we would have well organized defense fleets ready to go for our mining ops in the face of Goons trying to kill the miners.

Don't be one of the heard.....Adapt instead of Crying....Hell pay someone else to set and protect your mining vessels....Give us null sec people more sport when we come down to empire! You might even enjoy shooting something that can shoot back, who knows.

Last I saw there were 2 goons running, though one was "not endorsed by goons'.
Plus, it is quite simple, even expected, to have alt's of goon's running.

There was a blog a few months ago, which I cannot find right now, that did an analysis on how many votes were needed to win a seat on the last CSM. It was something like 1300-1500 votes to get elected last time.
It is a pretty simple thing for goons, who have well in excess of 6000 votes available within their mains and alts (2000 in goonswarm, plus the alt on those accounts, plus who knows how many other non-goon affiliated alt accounts), to split their votes to elect a lot of people to the CSM.

Mittani may be an evil jerk, but he is far from stupid.
He can easily have a strawmen/puppets running as a rep for high sec interests, another for wormhole interests, a few apparently non-goon related people running as well.

All can be elected and then "Surprise, we all are goons!"
The smart play of course is to keep that fact under tight wraps even after the election.
That NDA is a wonderful tool to muzzle anyone from stating precisely what interests were represented by whom.

Now, I do believe that Kelduum from Eve UNI will get in, since he also has a large potential voting bloc there.
But rest assured, when the voting is done, the scaled down CSM (was 7 reps + 7 alternates, now 5+5) will be goon-dominated.

The more people I kill in Eve Online (and I've literally killed thousands, if not tens of thousands) the more I find that the players who are the most socially adjusted and psychologically stable are the killers, the pirates, the agressive violent individuals that thrive on player vs. player competition.

The players who are the most unreasonable, the most unintelligent and the most hateful (sending dozens of evemails spewing violent profanity and racist hate speech for example) are the 'carebears'- the builders, the industrialists, the miners. The people who claim to be benevolent and 'peaceful' and 'just want to be left alone'. These are the most dangerous, most maladjusted sociopaths in the game.

I think the reason for this is that this class of players gravitates towards online games because it's an environment where they can escape reality, escape their shortcomings in the real world and enjoy a break from having to compete with the rest of the human race for their place in the world. What is funny is that in Eve, there is no escape. There are fewer game mechanics in place to protect them from their own stupidity and incompetence. They find no respite from the pressures of their fellow man. And it makes me laugh.

So no, the Goons aren't sociopaths. They're simply better. And you don't like it.

This is 100% accurate. When the Gallente Ice Interdiction was going on I was getting multiple IRL death threats every day from people who suffered the consequences of violating the interdiction. It was truly disturbing. I rest easy in the knowledge that, assuming CCP enforced their EULA, those people got banned and I'm still playing.

True, the 23K/ Caldari Fuel Block is a spike, which will likely be absorbed with 36-48 hours.
But the 800 ISK/unit of Nitrogen Isotopes is more systemic, based on the Goon supported interdiction of all ice mining in about 5 Caldari regions.

And like I said, I personally am fine with this, as I prepared.
I am just generally angry with the goon's ability and enjoyment of destroying the game for many.

Given that they plan on completely controlling the next CSM, I recognize that this current asshattery is child's play compared to what they will have in store once they have total control of CCP's ear.

That is what burns me more than anything else.

I have chars in high sec, I have chars in null sec, I have had chars living in wh's.
All forms of playstyle in the the game are viable choices and cater to various real life personalities and time constraints of players.

Unfortunately, the high sec style of play will be made extinct if goons and the other null sec alliances have their way, which is become increasing likely given their control of the CSM.

Eve is hard, boo hoo, player controlled market. What do you expect no competition? Nobody is forcing you to play if you don't like it. Here's an idea, mine the materials yourself.

Yah. But specifically I'm referring to when the Privateers recruited a zillion people and wardec'd half the alliances in eve before they changed the dec cost structure. That was funny as hell. I don't think that qualifies as "high sec gank bear" since most major alliances (BoB being the biggest/most powerful at the time) were unable to resist and pretty much avoided Jita. ...and actually, I was speaking more of "forces of nature"... game mechanics that allow for a certain asymmetric play style resulting in an organization that specializes in it. At these times the tendency for players is to talk about how much they hate said organization when in fact what they hate is how those players use the mechanics of the game. It was the same when BoB looked like they would own the entire south and people were whining about them being unstoppable. People hated the Privateers because they could wardec the universe. In like kind, they are b******* about goons for whatever reason but I imagine its a similar angst.

Signatures should be used responsibly...
