EVE not detecting my primary graphics card

My computer has switchable graphics, with one card being a crappy intel and the other being an ATI Radeon 6490M. From the catalyst settings I have the EVE app set to use the ATI card, yet when I log into EVE and check the graphics settings, it's still using the Intel, and doesn't even detect the Radeon. Does anyone know how I might be able to fix this?

Im having the same problem also, I how ever have a Nvidia 540m.

On the nvidia control panel, I select the 540m to run with eve and also to run Globally all the time.

I have also tried opening the client by right clicking the shortcut and selecting the 540m as the gfx card on opening.

I still have the same issue as the bloke above, with only the intel gpu selectable.

At first I thought maybe it was just an information error and my 540m was actually doing the work, but loading times are long and my fps drops to 0 when switching between chat channels that are grouped together (probably a 1-1.5sec hang)

my laptop has this hybrid stuff in it. when i run eve in the esc menu it does say that it's using the intel card, but the performance says otherwise. with mine (intel / nvidia) there is a utility in the nvidia tools to list what applicaitons are using the GPU. it adds some icon in the taskbar. that also confirms that i'm using the nvidia card to run eve.

i remember i contacted Nvidia about this some time ago and they had to put a profile into the drivers for eve (foggy memory) or something like that. it might be the same for AMD.

i will dig into it a little bit and see if we can get the esc menu fixed to display the correct card that is being used. more on this soon hopefully. will also drop an email to AMD.

thanks

Thanks! It's definitely not using the AMD card as the performance is awful... combats pretty much impossible, and I used to play EVE on my old PC which was significantly less powerful, so I know this one should definitely be able to handle it. Keep me posted on any updates What?

me again.

we have been talking with Nvidia about to try and identify the reason we dont display the correct graphics card and i have some custom drivers we are using to test with.

for our part it's just a display issue, that it doesn't display the correct card. if your 100% sure that eve is running on the wrong card, then thats happening at the os and out of our control.

we will continue and fix up this display issue (hopefully) then we can explore the "wrong card" issue.

more soon hopefully.

Hi,

Is there any development on this issue? I resubbed few days agon only to find out I am not able to play the game at all on my current machine. I installed latest dirvers available with no luck so far. I am effectively playing for game I can not play.

My machine is Samsung NP700Z (with AMD 6750M) if it helps at all.
