Courier contracts question

I set up a courier contract to have something moved a few jumps. I set the reward at 100,000, and collateral at 35 million. The item's sell price was about 35 million.

The contract was accepted and finished, but I can't seem to find the 100,000 debit in my journal. What transaction type should I narrow it to so that I can find these types of payouts? I tried a few contract categories in the journal but couldn't find it. I did see a 10,000 ISK transaction credit around the same time as the contract was completed, but that doesn't make sense.

And I'm not expecting to find the 35 million collateral in the journal, unless the contract was accepted but not fulfilled, correct? Does this collateral amount still show up in any other way even if the contract was successfully completed?

Thanks!

Hmz, can't think of which category it's under but try to look at the date the courier contract is made.

Also keep in mind:

Collateral isn't paid to you unless the guy accepting the courier fails to complete it. Unless those 2 happens you will never see any collateral. collateral is placed inside a 3rd party mechanics.
I believe when you make the contract, the reward is already taken from your wallet and stored in NPC 3rd party mechanics, it stays there until either 2 things happen, the contract is completed, the reward is paid out or the contract is deleted / runs out of time, then you get that reward refunded.

Also for next time, ALWAYS set up collateral (way) above selling price of the item(s) you want shipped, this means they likely won't be stolen and even if they do, it means you make profit from it (hence why couriers are a nice way of making money from suicide ganking the guy accepted them).

I see, thanks for the info.

So if the reward (100,000) is taken out right when the contract is created, maybe I should look at that date/time to see if it's there as a debit.

Yes, best to look at the date and time you made the contract, it should have 2 debits in the wallet journal, one withdrawal of the reward into escrow and the 10.000 ISK fee for making a contract

Yes, the reward is taken out when the contract is created. This ensures that you are able to pay the reward that you offered. If the contract is cancelled the reward would be returned to you.

That or if the contract is failed (the guy lost your shipment due to him being killed or ran out of time) you get the collateral. Here again the collateral is taken as soon as you accept it so that you are always able to pay it.
