Forced character customization?

While you're at it, is there any chance you could add some decent hairstyles for gallente characters?
Stuck with these damn dreads as everything else is too short~ minny guys have some nice styles.. :(

Can't argue with you there...lol Every now and then my beard gets to be annoying and I HAVE to shave it all off and start from scratch. As soon as I am done I regret it every time. Freaking cold...and just doesn't feel right. It's like I just cut out a part of my soul. But...in fantasy world it is a real drag when you can't look perfect.

It isnt mate, im still the hideous abomination i created last night it seems... Do i need to do something on my end to see the changes?

Edit: Actually, disregard that. In the captains quarter and in the chat window i have my old avatar. However on the character sheet its the new guy i created last night, and in the forums the picture is of my old character in the pose of the new guy.. heh, can this be fixed?

Ah... hmmmm, I guess we are only converting the actual character information, and not reverting to the old camera settings... I thought it was a bit odd how similar the 2 profile pictures were P I'm surprised no one has mentioned this before.
I think it would be best if you went into the recustomization and changed your pose, I don't think we will be converting the pose and the camera any time soon... sorry.

And for the CQ, try clearing your cache like Sirinda suggests.

I just reactivated but now i cant log in because char is all borked :(

My character has suffered some sort of facial trauma and has no ability to adjust facial expressions using the nose. How am I supposed to sneer at someone without an expression that affects the nose?

Is there any way (or in near future) to save the current character look/pose/lights?
Because i am 100% sure that i wont be able to remake the same look, and once its applied and ingame, chars tend to look a bit different that in creator. By that time its too late and original is lost.

Well, everything should be saved now and loaded when you enter recustomization.

There is an issue with the light when you have low or medium shader settings, because then you have fewer lights in the scene (for performance reasons), and therefore cannot change the light colors or intensity, but the character creator still has controls to change that. So if you made some changes to that and saved your character, those settings would be used for your server rendered portrait.
This has been fixed internally, so now you only have fewer lights when you have low quality shaders, and in those cases you don't have the controls to change light color or intensity. The character might be lit a bit differently when the serer has rendered it, but that's just the way it has to be. This change should go out in a few weeks.

Try going into recustomization and check out if your character loads up like you want it to be. If it doesn't, just back out and don't save, and then come back here and tell me what was not the way it was supposed to be P

I'm not sure... we have had a lot of bugreports on this, and I hope it's fixed internally.
I have rerendered your character, and am using it as a test case so it would be great if you could leave her alone for a few hours (as in not recustomize again) Smile

Regarding "forced character customization" then we are updating in this thread: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=43557 That issue should now be fixed once and for all; but if there are still remaining cases then let us know in that thread.

Regarding the missing portrait backgrounds then we are updating in this thread: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=71990 We are still working on that issue.
