Taranis - Solo, and Maxing it out - what does it need?

I am having a Taranis Fit.... fit in that I need a fit and I am flying it to the exclusion of all else atm...

I have about 3Ds to Hybrid T2s and then that done - so atm I am putting T1s in the space just to get used to the performance of the ship and doing some rat intercepts.

There is that extra HS, and the 3x MS - I keep putting a Small Cap Booster II there - I like having cap, and a Scram II and MWD... The lows are just a light Armor Tank, because I am doing rats and have no support logi, so a SAR II for repping on the fly after completion.

Now in looking at the inty - well it is fast just stock, so I am not thinking it needs alot of speed rigs or lows, DPS is light, and most of it comes from the 2x Hob IIs in the drone bay - but I have 3x L. Electrons I (soon to be T2s) in the HS...

I would put a Neut, but the Salvager II seems to be more use, or even an Offlined Cloak - for when you ge stuck and being scanned - offline the MWD and such and online the Cloak and wait it out like a submarine on the bottom...

Now we have this Gallente Exp hole, which is really hard to plug on this ship... and really takes down the fit, so I am not seeing it worth doing with rigs - or is it? or just going with the DCU II and one or two ANP IIs in the lows.

So questions are what rigs? boosters (slot 1-3), and fits do people put on this ship if you want to do some solo romps around in it?

On my phone so no eft, but a tried and tested fit is dual-prop, scram, hull tanked and hybrid damage rigs with a nos on spare high

The priorities to max out are in the following order.

Lets assume you have everything trained to IV with the requisites for tech II mods etc to V. You want to probably approach maxing skills out in this kind of order...

AWUV and gunnery support V
Interceptor V
Thermo V
Ship fitting etc support
cybernetics V (if you plan to use snakes or what have you)

Then whatever prop jamming, drones and navigation stuff you want to finish off. Maxing drones out completely is not really worth it unless you truly want a maxed out and specialised character.

There's not much to train for for this ship and you can more or less max it out at about 30-25m skillpoints. It doesn't need armour repair or armour compensations for example.

I have a character that is maxed out in this ship and a comet. When I resub it next I will add AF V for the newly balanced Enyo as it only needs the AF skill training.

The Taranis is one of my favorite ships to fly!

There's the classic dual-prop fit, made even better by the hybrid buff.

[Taranis, PVP Dual prop]
Micro Auxiliary Power Core II
Magnetic Field Stabilizer II
Damage Control II

1MN Afterburner II
Faint Epsilon Warp Scrambler I
Limited 1MN MicroWarpdrive I

Light Neutron Blaster II, Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge S
Light Neutron Blaster II, Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge S
Light Neutron Blaster II, Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge S
[empty high slot]

Small Hybrid Burst Aerator I
Small Hybrid Collision Accelerator I

Hobgoblin II x2

With the reduced fitting requirements you can squeeze out 362 dps with Void overheated. This can fit with AWU IV, and is very versatile in null sec. In Low sec I tend to prefer to drop the MWD and go with a webifer instead. This frees up more grid letting you drop the MAPC for some more tank.

This man speaks the truth. Also, nos is great if you can afford the grid. :)

The taranis is awesome but be careful of assault frigates since they will kill you pretty much every time unless you kite them.

EVE online is the fishermans friend of MMO's. If it's too hard you are too weak.

You can usually do ok vs AFs that don't have a tracking bonus.

The Taranis is an amazing little ship, as is the eres (each for a slightly different purpose, of course), but I would absolutely recommend having a nos in the high slots. one of those fits posted above me works very well. Even if you're ratting, ditch the armor reps and just speed tank the rats.
