Looking for a Small FW Gang/Fleet to fly with

Hey all,

I'll be joining the Caldari Militia in about a week or so when I return from a trip. I'm not looking to jump to a new corp (yet anyways) but I'd be curious if anyone out there would take me along for some small roaming gangs/fleet ops. I'm very receptive to input and have no problem listening to FC's.

I have a little PVP experience but I'm by no means an expert.

I'm capable of flying Minmatar Frigs/Destroyers with most skills at 4 and of course Caldari Missile Ships but I'm not quite trained enough for Stealth Bombers other than to get in.

I'm currently working on improving the core skills for small ship PVP, but I will be training ECM/Logistics skills for future ops that require a balanced fleet.

Eve-mail me or Convo me in game.

You can stop by our channel "SQUIDpub"or convo me if you like. We recruit a lot of new & inexperienced players and at this point our core ships are Thrashers & Cormorants. We also fly Drakes & Hurricanes but mostly focus on the Dessies being many of our guys are new players.

Good to see SOME FW corps let in new players... XD

When I was in FW.. too many corps were too paranoid to do that. Then again it was the minmatar militia! :)

.................It's the eye of the tiger, it's the thrill of the fight Risin' up to the challenge of our rival And the last known survivor stalks his prey in the night And he's watchin' us all with the eye of the tiger...............

TBH, I'm surprised more new & or smaller corps don't focus on recruiting new guys. When we created SQUIDS. we decided to specifically focus on recruiting new players because at the time Caldari Militia was full of new players that most corps pretty much ignored due to not knowing how to use them or the whole spy issues.

We have gone from just 3 original members to almost 40 in just 2.5 months. The KB isn't the greatest at this point but a pretty decent percentage of the guys are active. Cool thing is now I've noticed a few other corps in Cal militia that are openly recruiting new guys as well.

The simple fact is you can take brand new guys and get them in a basic fit destroyer in just a few days and get them out there killing, you just have to show them the ship fits you need them to use and show them a simple skill plan to get them in it. With all the plex fighting going on between Caldari & Gallente it's a good time to be a new guy because there are actual fights they can be useful in.

The same thing could be done in any of the other Militia as all have new guys that get ignored. We actually have an alt corp in Amarr Militia at this point that we intended to do the same thing with, but haven't had the time to get the ball rolling on it. The idea was to have a corp in each Militia and have them both work together as an un-official alliance.

And that's great for the new player too... and ultimately, great for the corporation. If you give a new player a hand... he'll return the favor, and either recruit his friends, or stay in the corp until ready to move out to bigger things.

You don't see more of it because it takes a lot of time and energy to do it. Too many people start corps expecting to recruit a ton of veteran players when they have absolutely nothing to offer. Then they are all confused when nobody wants to join their awesome Corp that the posted a single recruitment thread on. You need some FCs to take the new guys out, you need industry and logistics guys to help them get stuff, you need patient tutors to teach them fits, you need patient and polite folks to do after action reports to explain to them what worked and what did not, you need your vets to be willing to fly frigs an dessies with the new guys, etc.

Kudos to you for doing it. I wish we had more Gallente corps doing it.
