Red & Blue Space <- what do they mean?

Hi,

I've been reading about wormholes as i found a class1, it was a -0.1 in red.

I've not been able to find out what is mean't by red and Blue space which is talked about in the Evelopedia

"4. The "color" of the wormhole indicates which type of wormhole you are going into, i.e. a red wormhole means you go into red space and a blue wormhole puts you into blue space. "

Do these coloured space have any bearing on what is inside or how difficult the site inside will be?

I almost tried to run it in a Caracal so pleased i read about sleepers first ^^ or I would be minus my Caracal now.

I lived in w-space for 2.5 years, from C2 to C6, and I never once cared about the colour of the wormhole.

I'm guessing the type of sun on the other side decides how the wormhole looks.

If you look at the info on a wormhole it will tell you more about where it goes to:

* "This wormhole seems to lead into unknown parts of space" = class 1, 2 or 3 w-space
* "This wormhole seems to lead into dangerous unknown parts of space" = class 4 or 5 w-space
* "This wormhole seems to lead into deadly unknown parts of space" = class 6 w-space
* "This wormhole seems to lead into high security space"
* "This wormhole seems to lead into low security space"
* "This wormhole seems to lead into null security space"

All w-space is -1.0 security = free-for-all, no rules, no CONCORD.

The info also tells you how much time and mass the wormhole has left, in general terms.

The only way to identify the difficulty (class) of a wormhole is to:
* Look-up the 'J' system in a reference.
* Look-up the identifier on an incoming side wormhole (all outgoing side wormholes are K162).

The red space/blue space comment is simply an observation that (a) the sky you can see "through" the wormhole is the same colour as the sky in the destination system, and (b) "red" systems (i.e.: C4-6) tend to be higher level than "blue" systems (i.e.: C1-3). Whether the colour of the sky is consistent across classes of unknown space systems, I do not know.

I'm thought WH's work as a lense for what's on the other side. They will show different colors to reflect the nebulas and star classes of the system on the opposite side of the WH.

I could be wrong however...

Exactly this. It just so happens that every class 1 wormspace system has the same color nebula as every other class 1 wormspace system, and so forth.

If you look through a wormhole that leads to K space you will see the nearby k space background nebulas; e.g. it's solid yellow and goes to losec, so the destination is probably in Amarr space and so forth.
