I'm looking for a reliable incursions guide that includes not only what the varied sites are and how they work, but also includes fleet setups and tactics. I've done a few ad-hoc groups and they're alot of fun, but, my corp would like to setup a group to do Incursions together regularly. To this end, we'd like to find a guide that weighs out the pros and cons of things like Shield vs Armor, Logi vs Spider Rep, and other such things.

Links would be appreciated. I wouldn't mind hearing your own opinions on the matters in this thread as well.

Maybe not what you looking for, since I gues you already have seen it. But http://incursionguide.wordpress.com/2011/03/23/nation-commander-stronghold/ have information about the different sites and and recomendation on shield composition on a high level.
The site does has a clear shield focus, so you will not find much regarding shield vs armore here....

I have, indeed, seen that site. I've noted that it's very shield-centric, and that it's less a guide and more of an instruction manual, which is not what I'm looking for. Never the less, thank you.

Part 4 is really useful for logi duty.

In general for the Shield vs armor comparisons, shield fleets(are usually battleship heavy) tend to outperform armor fleets in OTA's and usually in NMC's. However, armor fleets(legion heavy) completely rock NCO's. I've been in 'shiny' shield fleets who had an entire wave headstart in NCO's get consistently demolished by a legion fleet.

Shield community is larger and has plenty of splinter communities(a lot of them fairly elitist). Some channels(like shiny fleets only) require peeps to be flying faction ships with t2 guns and logis at logiV. Hell... some channels will have FC's cargoscan you to make sure you're using faction ammo etc.

Incursion Shiny Pub (this community has recently had some drama some folks fleeing to Keith's channel)



Spider tanking isn't as popular these days since they require more effort and aren't much faster than fleets with logis (accidents happen way more with those fleets). 7-9 dps 2-3 logi shield fleets are getting pretty common these days.

its a few months outdated some things have been improved but its a hell of a lot better then the 2 year old BTL guide xD
