Not sure if you are even able to answer this but I am just curious if you guys have a system you use for working on the game and staying on track? The company I work for uses a system called SCRUM. It works very well and keeps our company on track with its developement goals.

For those who don't know or those that even care, what I am referring to is a process of tracking how much work it takes to complete a given developement objective and the time or resources involved in order to make goals and have a timeline in place for bugfixes and new projects.

I am just curious is all.

Please keep the CCP hate and banter out of this thread guys. If you have nothing constructive to say at all...please just don't say it.

Pretty sure they said somewhere in a dev blog that they use Scrum as well. ... I.e. here.

Every company and their dog use some kind of agile development nowadays, most of them SCRUM.

Hell, I've been forced into SCRUM for a 4 month project at university with a group of 3 people. Talk about exaggeration...

Confirming that shooting the SCRUM leader, tarring and feathering the product owner and kidnapping the dev machines is a most fun and productive development method.

You can't make too much money off seminars, workshops and books on Cowboy Coding. Lol Which is strange; it has a catchy name and that means it should be very popular with them executive types. Roll

They've been using Scrum for what, 5 years now? Okay, it's only been 3 years.

They've hired SCRUM lords in the past so, I assume they're pretty close to what you're familiar with.

They also say defect a lot and use words like backlog and stories. So there ya go.

Threat detection: Buzzword overload
Threat level: typical buzzword misuse
Suggested remedy: NUKE ALL THE THINGS FROM ORBIT.

Tedium and difficulty are not the same thing, if you don't realize this then STFU about game design.

SCRUM is a plot to hire yuppies who really don't know how to work to "organize" those who do. When I hear that word, it makes me want to cheer for every hacker.
