Forced character customization?

So i just returned to eve to try out incarna, and for some reason im taken to the character customization screen when i try to log in with my character... Is this working as intended? I had grown quite fond of my manly beefcake, do i have to redo him? =(

No, this is not working as intended, you can read about it in this thread

So, you can enter the game, just create a new look, and tomorrow morning when I get to the office I'll convert your character so you get your old self back Smile

Edit: is it this character you are posting with? I wouldn't want to convert the wrong dudeP (if it's not, and you don't want to say what character it is here, you can file a petition P)

No, this is not working as intended, you can read about it in this thread

well, that's not really what's going on.... the fact that I'm here in my spare time and trying to help out does not mean that CCP is just working on problems on the forums and ignoring petitions. Of course petitions are being worked on.

I am just working on the character creator and take pride in it, and I hate to see people lose their character when I know I can help out. If your petition has to do with losing your character's old appearance, then sure, I'll resolve it because it's easy and I know exactly what needs to be done. But I am not a GM, so it's better for all parties if we just let the professionals do their thing Smile

It isnt mate, im still the hideous abomination i created last night it seems... Do i need to do something on my end to see the changes?

Edit: Actually, disregard that. In the captains quarter and in the chat window i have my old avatar. However on the character sheet its the new guy i created last night, and in the forums the picture is of my old character in the pose of the new guy.. heh, can this be fixed?

I want to do it from the start because I hate this character, it doesn't look "adopted" if you know what I mean. Lol

Wait wait..... we can have our old pre-walking in stations avatars back? This sounds too good to be true but if so I have 21 characters that I will need to petition for.

Ah... hmmmm, I guess we are only converting the actual character information, and not reverting to the old camera settings... I thought it was a bit odd how similar the 2 profile pictures were P I'm surprised no one has mentioned this before.
I think it would be best if you went into the recustomization and changed your pose, I don't think we will be converting the pose and the camera any time soon... sorry.

And for the CQ, try clearing your cache like Sirinda suggests.

well... the people that are having this problems created their characters in the new character creator, then didn't log in from april/may (don't know exactly when it was) until Crucible was released. Sometime around april/may, we changed how the the characters are stored, so they were converted as people logged in. There were some changes made in Crucible that meant that this doesn't happen anymore... so the system thinks those people don't have a character when they log in now, and forces them into the character creation.

So if your characters were created in the new character creator(which was released pre-walking in stations), and then you had to redo them after Crucible was deployed, you should be able to get your old look back for them, but you cannot get the characters from before Incursion (that is, from the old character creator).
If you are "eligable" for this conversion, then you should probably petition it, because that's a lot of character and I have other stuff to do Big smile

Since we are on the subject...the lips and general mouth area on my character changed entirely when I simply changed what beard I was using one day. Obviously a bug and I can live with my character as is but he can't go without a beard anymore since it he looks horrible without one due to the change on his mouth. I never bothered with a petition as I assumed we might get another option in the nearish future to recustomize entirely again when some new options come out for the characters. I could be wrong on that...if that is the case I would like to make a petition. Just let me know if I should take the time to do so or not.
