Don't care. I don't spend enough time zoomed in and admiring my own ship to bother spending anything on a silly skin. Put it in the NeX, let the space barbie crowd buy them, and drive up the value of any PLEX I steal.

Yeah and I'm sure that half of the population probably reads this and thinks "meh who cares".

The reason people should consider caring is the "golden bullet" scenario. Just suppose that these paint jobs one day alter the stat's of the ship in some way after the way has been paved for them to be bought from the NeX store with Aurum.

That is the reason people hate the idea of NeX so much. CCP can say "never gonna happen" until they are blue in the face but it does not change the fact that it could happen.

Why does the existence of the NeX make you so concerned about CCP changing their tune? You do realize that they could implement this kind of thing without the pre-existence of the NeX or notification to you?

This isn't one of those 'slippery slope' cases where the issue slowly erodes into a full blown problem. If CCP wants to implement a 'golden bullet' they can do it regardless of any pre-existing marketplace.

I think CCP is pretty clear on what the playerbase thinks about non-vanity items. If a day ever comes where the opinion of the playerbase changes or financial necessity requires it, CCP will implement 'golden bullets' if they want to.

TL;DR: CCP will do what they want, regardless of the pre-existence of a special marketplace - so quit crying about it and enjoy your neon pink ships.

Considering things vanity/non-vanity is a slippery slope. Content is content. Painting ships is adding content, let's make it mean something.

Define mean something.

Excuse me, painted ships are not content, they are vanity items.

They belong in the NEX store with the rest of the vanity items, and you should pay Aurum for it. Considering how easy it is to convert plex to aurum I don't see an issue, as you can still have everything in the NEX store for isk if you're willing to work for it.

Also just because you're a risk averse freak of nature, please don't try to wall the rest of us in, if i buy a ship, its to PVP with, no matter what goes on it, or in it, and that includes any paint job i might slap on it.

Stop being such a delicate little bunch of girls about everything.

I just cant get my head round the reason people hate it so much?!?

Because they can't afford the 1B monocle and think that the 1B monocle gives players some kind of PvP advantage over them?

Anyone who believes this is a r3tard and shouldn't be allowed near a computer...
