High to null trade runs - looking for partner

I'm looking to mix it up a bit and try my hand at running the gauntlet from high sec to null and back, and thought a good excuse to do it would be for trade runs. But...I'd rather have a partner for this. So here's my thought...

My partner tells me what small m3 product he'd like to sell down in his neck of the woods.

I bring the product down to him, sell to him at a discount, and we do a space exchange of product for isk. Basically - I jet can the stuff, he transfers me isk.

Lather rinse and repeat.

Anyone interested in such an arrangement?

I'd imagine most nullsec corps & alliances have their own corpmates and logistics. But yeah, it might work for small items, e.g. modules that are hard to get from null and such.

Why would you jet can stuff?

Seems easier and less risky to just use a JF and contract stuff back and forth.

Looking to make the runs to see if I can. Figure I might as well try to make a small profit while I'm there. Not thinking anything large scale. Just one guy who could use a little mostly passive income. I mean come on - the product is being delivered to him!

Jet can because the stuff is in my cargo and I'm trying to avoid docking (or undocking rather). Jet can the stuff, hope he pays me. If he does, we can do it again. If not, we don't.

I think you are asking to be scammed :P

Why are you worried about docking? Ideally you would have a scout with you.

If I get scammed, I get scammed. Just won't do anything with him again. Besides, it'd be in both of our best interests not to scam the other. Passive income for him, fun for me.

I'm concerned about undocking as I'll be a neutral in the system. Don't want to lose my boat while undocking.

You will lose it anyway, whole dealing with the jettison stuff.

My experience in nullsec is limited, but the same rules apply as if you were in highsec with a wardec or in lowsec with people you don't know in the system. Don't undock if you know someone is station camping you (hence the cloaky scout).

Alternatively, you can probably set an instawarp bookmark off of the stations you're going to be doing business in so in the event that you're undocking from a station in a hostile system with a short ramp you can warp away before anything bad happens to you.

If you're pre-arranging these transactions or only doing them in certain systems, you can send in a scout ahead of time to get familiar with the area to find out who you can trust and who not trust. While you're there, chat up the locals to build a rapport with them and learn who's safe and who isn't.

All I can say for sure is that right now you're asking to get scammed :)

I'm very aware of the potential to be scammed, but I'm going to do it anyway. Just have to find that one person who's willing to give it a shot. They get the product before they pay me, I'm delivering it to them, so there really isn't any risk to them. They can even bring their croonies to the meet as back up, as I won't be there anyway.

I like your idea of hanging out in local and trying to build a rapport with them though. Maybe I'll do that. Just show up in an NPC 0.0 area and start chatting it up. I suppose I can try to find a buddy to come with me on these runs to give me the cloaky scout I need for the undock. That may prove to be a little tricky, but I'll see what I can figure out. Now to find these NPC areas...here I come Google!

Don't expect it to happen quickly - when I was grinding up my sec status on an alt I had to chat with the locals for about 2 weeks in order to get on good terms with them. In fact, it wasn't until I got sick of grinding and told them I was selling that character that they told me they were about to set me blue :)

I don't get why you just wouldn't use an Item Exchange contract for the same purpose. Easier and safer for both of you.

You folks are missing the point. I want to run the gauntlet to see if I survive. Oh look, I made it. Nice! Might as well sell these 5 things and make 100K while I'm here. I don't want to dock though, so that leaves the space transfer.

If I get scammed, I get scammed. I'm not doing this with hundreds of millions worth of product!

I have a secret for you.

0.0 is not the scary place with hostiles at every gate like you think it is. In fact, especially if it's not a warzone, it's actually rather boring.

0.0 isn't that exciting. It's only at the hi-sec choke point that you really have to worry.

Docking isn't that bad once you know what to do.
This is how you do it:
1. Google kickout station and learn about them.
2. Undock and quickly press ctrl + space (or whatever your full stop shortcut is). Doing so will stop your ship but you will be unlockable.
3a. If there are enemies at undock, re-dock, wait until downtime or enemies are gone and start step 1.
3b. If there are no enemies at undock, do whatever you want.

So if the high sec choke point is the only place I really need to worry, would a T3 with an interdiction nullifier and cov ops cloak be sufficient, or have the bubbler's figured a way to stop those?

That is the best of the best when it comes to surviving, yes. I suggest a blockade runner if you want some cargo though. A covert op would also work if you don't need the cargo space.

Edit: THE best of the best would of course be a redeemer cynoing around from (emtpy) system to system.

he is wrong, its a very scray evil place where you risk losing everything u owe in eve in a single system!!!

When you jump into a 0.0. sometimes you see this white blue haze blur thingy that insat vaporises you and all you assest in station. You lose years of playing time and many many isk!!!! Do not go to 0.0 as its as scary as the boogie man in your clouset!!!

oh... hi corestwo Mr Labby sais hi, long time no see
