Can't go after the people for doing it right. For every smart cloaky zipping about there will be 100 fools in something soft and squishy with way too much isk. I have no problem with smart people taken actions to make themselves as hard to gank as possible, its only fair.

The russians keep on throwing freighters at you lot so you do need a bit of karma otherwise the ying/yang would be out of balance.

2 good points! +1 to CCP fixing these issues to provide a fair and balanced chance of de cloaking ships on gate.

it is sad when you have a dram bump throu a cloaked target on a gate and it still warping cloaked...

Ive seen this in 00 (with out bubbles), low, and high sec. Hope something good comes from this thread.

Dude, I can bump cloaked ships and they don't decloak. So, if he does do a great job at it now, vs before this fix, I'd honestly want to know what he uses, because a dramiel with snakes can't even get the job done. I have a feeling you may be exaggerating just a tad.

drop cans ( or position ships )at 5 of the 6 cardinal points of the gate, that should leave the 6th cardinal point of the gate the most barren, and should dictate where the ship will appear. sit close to the gate but within disruptor range of the barren area.

If what you're saying is true, then the result will be easier gate camping, not harder, as you can dictate where the ship will be more likely to appear with just a little prep time.

and of course, if enough people do this ( assuming it works ) I bet your random spawn will return quite soon.

Thank you for your response. I don't believe that the 2nd is forcing pvp on people, its a chance based spawn. It gives an equal chance that they spawn far away as it does that they spawn close. I only seek it to be fair to both parties, not lopsided toward one.


This kind of game play is the equivalent to spawn camping in a fps in a poorly designed map. The only kind of people who get enjoyment out of such a system are the gang bangers who are spawn camping. And as we all know, only 4 out of 5 people enjoy gang bangs.

Get a sabre. Go to nullsec. Learn to pvp instead of asking for the game to be changed to make it easier for you to get cheap thrills.

So the answer is to exploit the current system to get back the right system?

First off, I rarely sit on a gate long enough to distribute cans around the gate for a pvp advantage.

Second, why should I have to change the way I play for CCP to make a change? Since when did these carebears change their style of play? They just whine and complain without any solid reasoning.

They never mentioned them.

There is a lot CCP does with good intentions but never announces their actions for fear of reprisal.

I'm really not sure if you are serious about the gate spawning part or not...part of me thinks it's a horrible troll. The other part of me thinks it's tears over carebears not dropping in your lap.

I'm not trying to be a d-bag about it, but I can't help but feel like I can't really put it any other way. I know I'm not a very good PvPer, but there has to be a great many ways to deal with something like this. Maybe posting up on a gate in a pattern or something, or even trying to guess where your quarry is going to go and beat them there. Isn't that what makes Eve fun? Trying to outwit both the game and your opponent? I loved those days when I was into that...nothing like overcoming the odds and being rewarded for doing so.

I was thinking of trolling this thread. But then I thought about the last time I busted a nulsec gate camp, and realized that I did indeed spawn in an area of least population. That is only 1 report. But it did happen.

As far as getting decloaked by some random object while in warp, it has happened to me only once since Crucible.
