This ! Maller has good tank but for DPS ... you can fart harder then Maller can shoot, so equip small lasers II (scorch) and be happy.

Actually, there are times when the DC will have a bigger effect on your armour resists than an additional hardener, simply because the DC is not subject to the stacking penalties. (This tends to happen when you try to stack four sources of resists together).

So... yeah. DC is somewhat situational in PVE (as has been pointed it it's also a comfortable safety net) but it does have a reason for being there at times.
