I'm fairly certain they are involved here.

EDIT:

Jokes aside, I find it endearing and sweet how devoted he is to Silas Vitalia. As curious as i am of Lady Vitalia's nature, and as cute a couple as they might make; I do have to admit he could do with better choices.

But... love chooses who it will.

This is unhealthy infatuation/obsession, not love, I think...

Nothing like a bit of pop psychology. What the hell would you know about it?

This doesn't sound to me like someone genuinely loving and accepting another for who they actually are in their own right:

On this day of cosmic significance for romance, I reaffirm my undying devotion to you.

Your beauty is only matched by your strength and wit. You are my suns, my moons, my starlit sky. Without you, I dwell in darkness.

Let me worship you in my arms and you will never again feel alone.

It sounds like someone consumed by possessive infatuation of a fantasy of what he wants that someone to be, that he's clearly put a lot of thought--mayhaps a more-than-strictly "normal" amount of thought, if you take my meaning!--into.

Some might call that romantic--The more rational amongst us might call it creeeeeeeeeee-py!

I don't know what that's called in the all-so-ultra-uber-enlightened locales of the Imperium--or the Khanid Kingdom, for that matter--but among us, it's called stalking.

Star Wars: the Old Republic may not be EVE. But I'll take the sound of dual blaster-pistols over "NURVV CLAOKING NAOW!!!11oneone!!" any day of the week.

As some of my close associates and family are familiar with Silas Vitalia then I. I have to defer only to bar room discussion but from our knowledge it is best to treat Silas Vitilai as more Fem-fatal than an object of affection. As a born free Minmatar who has never felt a pain stick or a submission collar I believe some statements are based on fantasy rather than fact. Wishful thinking intended to flatter can, in deluded minds, cause wishful thinking to transcend into insane actions. My brothers will be keeping and eye on you Valdezi.

We live in a cynical world, in which a romantic declaration of the Most Auspicious Day of Romantic Fervour of the Humble and Esteemed St. Gheris the Long Fingered, is seen not as a beautiful affirmation of the human capacity to love, but as something despicable.

I do not regret baring my love for the ridicule of morons, mongrels and Matari. Most of the negativity sounds to me like a dog I once saw that had been routinely beaten by its owner and henceforth hated all people and incessantly barked and howled, like a stupid demented thing, not even worthy of rebuke, but only of pity.

I suppose this is what my Dad warned me about when he said some women play hard to get.

Lady Vitalia no doubt enjoys the attention, yet she can't reveal that publicly because it's more fun to have this romantic gent woo her even harder.

When your gut instincts tell you something is wrong, trust them. When your heart tells you something is right, ignore it, check with your brain first. Accept nothing, challenge everything.

I feel obligated to respond here, if only because I am a former employee of Silas', which I believe give me a very unique perspective on her. I still speak with her regularly, though she has been quite busy as of late attending to a few loose ends in high sec.

I flew with Silas for roughly a year as part of the Vanguard, and was part of its trek out into 0.0 for King and Kingdom. I admit there can be something about Silas that is attractive--until you suffer under her lash for failing to perform to her expectations in combat. I assure you, if you think she is terrifying to face in space, she is even moreso when she is your CEO. While, I admit, Silas is a beautiful model of feminimity, I have to agree with FearPunk, as I could not imagine what a relationship with Lady Vitalia would be like, due to her ferocity in combat and leadership. For the sake of my implants, I do hope she takes this as a compliment.

So, Valdezi, I wish you luck, but I do hope you realize, that should you ever win her heart, she will surely soon own your skin; and, honestly, knowing this little about you, and calling Silas a friend, I do hope you know, should you bother her too much, my Harbinger will be camping your next station undock.

I admire Valdezi's tenacity but feel his tactics are... lacking. Perhaps some holoreels on relationships would be in order?

I don't think it's despicable! I think it's rather cute. And highly entertaining.

Dear Valdezi,

I am very sorry that many of your fellow pilots seek only to mock your pain of unrequited affection. This is the peril of ungoverned emotion.

Let me encourage you to abandon your quest for a love based on attraction and replace it with a love based on commitment.

The flame of attraction is easily snuffed for it is fueled by tenuousness of emotion.

The fire of commitment is sustained by the supply of will as its fuel.

Seek a woman who will reciprocate commitment then attraction and affection will follow. Not only will they follow, but they will be of such a character to last much longer than if sought on their own.

The Disciples of Ston bid you peace

Bah! The flame of attraction is a marvelous thing. Living out in the hole, I keep a rather well-stocked entourage of both male and female attendants who make sure my every... need... is attended to quickly. With what I make from the sleepers, keeping a few hundred private consorts well fed, paid, and attended to is no trouble at all. I think a few who've caught my eyes are even millionaires now...

I just don't trouble myself with such emotional attachments... usually. I do have a corp mate that has followed me around from corp to corp that I have an ongoing.. arrangement with, but I would no longer consider it anything exclusive or to be troubled over.

Of course, if I meet an attractive pod pilot who shows a reciprocal interest, we may engage in some sort of additional arrangement for a time, but I much prefer sleeping with someone who is not possibly plotting my final death.
