I've decided to give FW a bit of a go and see what's what. I know nothing about it but that's fine, I'll figure it out.

My question is this; I'm I going to hate it if I fight for the Caldari? I've read a few times that they get smashed and I want to know if it's going to put me off.

I'm not really interested in the rewards, rather a good fight* and a bit of fun**.

*Not getting curb stomped every time
**Not outnumbering the enemy 5-1 to get easy wins.

Don't fly in general militia. I did it for a month or so. It's very frustrating. Apply to a FW corp ASAP. If you are doing caldari, I would suggest Squids or Four Horsemen or Super Chair and his guys. Look them up on militia killboards. Good solid pvp corps. I am sure there are other good ones, but those are the ones I see most.

It really is fun. And use plexes as they were intended - the restricted gates help even out numbers and ship-types.

Militia can be good fun - you should give it a try. If you don't like it - just leave.
I can't answer if getting out gunned will put you off or not. It happens sometimes - other times you will be on the side with more guns. Depends on how well you handle losing ships and your own maturity.

Fly cheap frigates or destroyers and then it's fairly stress free.
Once you learn how to travel - getting blobbed becomes rare.
Learn your low sec areas/routes and know where to look - you will get lots of pvp + lots of cat and mouse games.

One thing guaranteed in Militia is that you will have the opportunity to get blown up lots.

Try Minnie/Amarr front. Otherwise you will get curbstomped with Caldari

Deens pretty much full of it, he generally posts about how awesome his militia is yet never leaves heyd while the other corps are out there actually fighting. Yes gallente have more numbers and yes gallente have more pilots with experience, but to some of us on caldari side we wouldnt have it any other way if it meant getting a fight (within reasonable odds, ill take a 3v1 at times but not a 10v1 Blink). Caldari took two systems and lost two systems this weekend and I just had a great couple of fights against qcats/villore accords tonight.

My biggest advice is to find the right corp to fly with on caldari side. If you're EU TZ inglorious-basterds, nasranite watch, or if you speak german: black rise gurrelia force. If you're us tz i'd highly recomend my corp: project cerberus Blink ...but i will force you to fly caldari ships. There is also THE4, i cant spell out their corp name cuz theres a million corps with the four horsemen of the apocalypse name out there.

This. Current situation enables lots of good fights using the plex system. Although Caldari are outnumbered atm, I would like to encourage you to sign up for Caldari. If you take Super Chair's advice it is highly probable you won't regret it.

Caldari Militia is far from being curb stomped at this point, but we are still out numbered. This means you have have to fly a bit smarter and try to use better tactics which is never a bad thing IMO. You have to find yourself a decent corp but also make sure you get your self involved with some of the gangs that form outside of general Militia chat.

There are quite a few corps that are also new player or new to PVP friendly, so don't shy away from talking to some of the more active corps for recruitment if you are new.
