The other problem you face with line of site is logistics in themselves.

It can already be quite difficult to take out logistics even against a small fleet, and even more so if they have more than one logistics.

Now, if you implemented line of site, then you'd never be able to take down that enemy fleet because they would do everything in their power to ensure you were out of line of site with the logistics, but with the logistics still having reasonable line of site on their fleet.

So essentially, until someone was able to bust through their defense wall with enough dps to down a logistics ship, then you'd never get anyone, and everyone would just run out of ammo and go home.

The other thing about line of site is that it would make drone boats extremely powerful, because the drones will get within 2.5km of their target and just orbit...So while you're stuck trying to get line of site on the ship you NEED to hit, you have a blob of drones just pounding the crap out of you... So it would probably cause a huge imbalance and the only effective pvp ships in the game would be drone boats...So it would probably end up getting reverted anyway.

I don't, reallly. I imagine quite well why such decisions were made along with their advantages and disadantages, thus I'm the last to call for change here. But it doesn't mean I don't miss FPP and stick steering.

Yeah, it'd be nice if another games company released an Eve-style free flight game at some point. Albeit on a small scale, obviously.

Last decent one I can remember is x3, and that must be ancient by now Lol

Blobs will be here to see the death of EVE. What you call a blob they call an 'Epic fleet fight'. Sure we know the real deal. You get to watch 70 ships lock you and you instapop in a half a volley, scram, Jam, thank-you mam, Hack and slash in space but that's not the sell.

Do what the blobs do.
API and Dotlan recon, avoid the hotspots. Of course that will also mean you avoid all confrontation short of miniature gank-a-thons of unsuspecting mission runners and yes, in the eyes of the guy running a mission in a Navy Raven your six pack is no different than the 200 man blob but that's the downfall of EVE. It's really not actually hard. Its a lottery of dont do stuff.
