So, I've upset the Gallente

I'm at worse than -5 to the Gallente Federation, which I believe means they shot me on site if I enter their Sov? If I want to grind it back up, how would I go about that?

First thing is read, and study, DMC's excellent faction standings repair plan: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=10212&find=unread

Taking that approach is much, much quicker than any other method(s) you will have ppl telling you about. It does take some work tho ... just like it took a fair bit of work to get where you are :-)

I guess I am almost a 'vet' by now. Hopefully not too bitter and managing to help more than I hinder. I build and sell many things, including large collections of bookmarks.

Is there a similar thread for people that want to max out standings as much as possible with all factions?

Follow DMC's plan linked above. You just have to keep rotating through the factions. Run for the Sisters of EVE to get Gallente and Minmatar up while doing minimal damage to your Caldari and Amarr standings.

And run the epic arcs, they're faction standings without the penalty.

While we are talking about raising standings... Can epic arc raise my standing when its above 8? I have Gallente standing 9.48 (unmodified) and would like to get 10 standing at some point. Any tips on that would be much appreciated.

yes it just takes a long time when you are that high up.

Just ran SOE in an Enyo, decent completion time but I think a Taranis would be faster next time.
