client crashes jumping through stargates

having just added the latest patch i find that every time i go through a stargate the eve client crashes, returning me to the desktop.

i have filed a petition several days ago ( yeah you can stop laughing at that one, we all know how in effective those are ) as well as a follow up. the original contained a dxdiag file which was requested and i have cleared out my cache files as well.

so i'm looking for some more helpful suggestions please.

Could you try to run the Client Repair Tool as Administrator? To confirm that there was no issue while patching.

downloaded that, updated it, ran it and i've still got the same problem...although i now have the added new feature that it crashes to desktop when i am attempting to dock now.

Sorry I didn't reply yesterday.

OK so there is no problem wit the Game Assets and you've cleaned the cache and settings already.

The last things I can think off at the moment are:

  • run bin/DirectX/DXSETUP.exe in your EVE Install folder to make sure there is no issue with the DirectX Installation
  • check for any outdated graphics or sound drivers.


What ever is causing the issue got already logged in our systems, I just hope I can help you work out a way to get a playable game client until the fix for the issue gets released.

well i've run the DXSETUP and checked for and installed new drivers for the gfx card and the problem is still there.

i have a friend who also has a similar problem although he only crashes after a few jumps through gate, he manages to do about 4 jumps were as i crash right after i jump through a gate and he is using an nvidia card where as i'm using and ATI Radeon 5700 series.

back to World of Tanks.

Do you have by any chance PANDO Media downloader running on you computer?

Other players had issues if the EVE Client and PANDO downloader are running at the same time.

Usually it gets installed by games to take care of updating and it seems as if World of Tanks is indeed installing it.

i took the liberty of searching for it when you first mentioned it as well as in the file pathway that you have mentioned here and so far it has not shown up.

two other things i have noticed tonight whilst attempting to use EVE;

1. the in game voice no longer seems to be working and yes i did check the options in the escape menu.

2. every time i type something into this forum the screen flashes white on every keystroke... this never happens on any other forum i'm on, and i do use numerous forums for my other hobbies.

well i'll give it a few more days for someone else to come up with solution to this continuing problem.

if i don't hear back from anyone in the next few days then i will instruct my credit card company to block any future payments for this game. I'm not about to pay for something that broken.

I'm also having this trouble. It doesn't happen on every gate, sometimes I can play for hours with no problem, sometimes it's crash after crash.

I've tried lowering my graphics settings since the crash occurs just before everything is rendered but this doesn't help.

I'm trying uninstalling some stuff I don't use, if it works I'll say so.

Edit: Nope, still crashing

i have cleared the cache files, lowered the settings, updated graphics card drivers, altered settings on graphics card. i have removed desktop icons that activate eve and have re installed them as that made the situation worse.

good luck on your search, i know we are not alone as i have met several other players who have this problem but there seems to be a lack of interest in fixing it.

I'm not experiencing this particular problem, but just thought it worth bringing up.

According to WoT forum thread pando is used when using internet installer. SO in your particular case you might be lucky of using different install method.



PhantomMajor, try searching for PMB process running on your computer.

well my WoT is actually the beta test version which was updated once the game went on general release but as yet i haven't any files related to pando media booster.

i have viewed the WoT files and folder to no avail as well as doing a files and folders search for pmb... now my search pattern might be incomplete and perhaps someone could recommend other search options and methods of locating this item.

however my gut instinct here is that the problem is cause by the accumulative effects of updates and patches, i feel at some point there must be conflicting code which is causing the crashes on gate jumps. i think the solution is to do a hard wipe of eve from my PC and do a total re-install, i know this is a real pain and to be honest i feel this is more hassle than it's worth... it's not like this is the only MMORPG.

after 5 years as a loyal player and fan i think there should be a better customer service program than this.
