Back after years.... is there any reason I shouldn't flood the market with my datacrons?

While it looks like they turned off skill gains while your account is inactive, it does not look like they stopped research agents doing their thing.

I've currently got over 2k Graviton datacores, ~500 Caldari SE, ~600 Mech Engi, and ~850 Rocket Science datacores.

I've got ~800M in my wallet, so I don't really NEED the cash, but I haven't decided if I'm going to reactivate my industrial character yet or not. Datacores were a decent money maker back in the day, less so now I'd imagine.

Basically, flying around collecting the datacrons made for a decent Return Day activity... but I don't know what to do with them aside from flooding the market with them.

Thoughts from the general public? (I'm looking for advice as to what YOU would do, not to generously take them off my hands for pennies on the dollar)

Just out of curiosity, how much would all that be worth at current market value? (Away from EVE right now, can't check myself.)

My advice would be check Jita data regarding the items you are trying to sell, your supposed flood may be a drop in the ocean What?

If you're not going to directly use the, I'd say sell them.

That is not an incredible number of cores, so I wouldn't sweat too much about what to do with them.

Quite a few cores are peaking at the moment, however, especially ship engineering of all varieties. Might be a good time to post them to market.

Ya "flood" is probably an overstatement. Although if I choose to reactivate my industry character, I'll likely triple/quadruple this amount . That character had all the science skills ;)

I guess I was really trying to make sure that nothing significantly changed with them that would cause having a significant number of them all at once somehow beneficial.

Thanks.

Pretty sure they changed that so only active accounts would get RP, was it like a year ago or so? to stop the ghost RP'ing which was pretty common tbh.

They have, about a year or so.

Quoted for truth. A busy inventor who does 5 or 8 batches per day can easily burn through 200-400 datacores (more if you are doing ships). A supply of 2000 datacores isn't all that much against demand like that unless it's an unpopular type.

Inactive accounts no longer generate RP/day (changed back in 2010?).

Honestly, when I'm in invention mode I chew through this kind of thing in a week - and that's just me.

So go ahead and sell. Someone will have a use for your datacores and you'll have some more iskies to play with but bear in mind that this little trick (ghost datacore farming) no longer works.

As others have said, you no longer can collect RP on unpaid accounts.
but none were lost.
what ever points you had after reactivation are the points accumulated since the last time you logged on to redeem them, until the patch that stopped it.

Well, as long as they're not Laser ones, I don't really care. I would be somewhat annoying having someone else to play the .01 ISK game with as I've recently picked up about 1k of those from my agents.
